Oly Cow FTC Robotics Team

Members from Oly Cow (Anjali Vasisht and Harry Collet), Bear necessities (Tom Pree) and our mentor (Mr.Steinkamp) went to the Olympia School District’s Tech Fair to promote FTC Robotics and what our teams are all about! Tech Fair is an event where schools from elementary to high school come together to promote the importance of technology and share their tech. projects to the public. The members spoke to 80-100 people about FTC robotics, what and how we built the robot’s components, as well as demonstrated the robot’s functions and what skills we have gained by being a part of robotics. The members also got to encourage children to join their school’s robotics team and allowed them to drive the robot! Many children were fascinated by robotics and the members answered any questions the children and their parents had about the program. Overall, Tech Fair was a successful event in which we connected with our local community, especially children, to talk about what robotics is all about!

We will be displaying a booth about our high school's robotics program at the Olympia School District's Technology Fair tomorrow (2/11) at Capital High School from 10AM-3PM. Come support our team and check out some cool robots! :)

This past Saturday, our two FTC robotics teams, 6424 Oly Cow, and 8548 Bear Necessities, traveled to Kent and competed against the top 35 teams from Washington. Bear Necessities showed a strong performance and ended up ranked 10 overall, and Oly Cow won the Motivate award, moving them on to the FTC Super Regional event, one step away from the world championships! They will represent our school against the best teams from the western US on March 10th-12th in Tacoma, WA. Go bears! Go Oly Cow!
