The Wesleyan-Holiness Women Clergy Conference (E2026) was held in Minneapolis at the end of February, and a few of our own were able to join several from NTS in attending. This conference is for women exploring and living out their call to ministry and for men who want to support them. Thank you to Dr. Deanna Hayden and Pastor Deanna Williams for supporting our students in attending!

Congratulations to Sage Friedline on her acceptance to Marquette University to pursue a Master of Arts in History! Sage has been a teacher's assistant in our department this year and will graduate in May with her Bachelor of Arts in History and Bible & Theology. She looks forward to studying the religious lives of early American women in her graduate studies at Marquette.

This week, our department participated in the first annual Ministry Fair hosted by MNU Church Relations. 28 churches and organizations from across the region came to campus to share ministry opportunities with our students. We are very encouraged by the meaningful connections made on Wednesday!

Our Christian classics reading group meets each week to read and discuss a great text in the Christian tradition. This semester the group is reading "On the Incarnation" by Saint Athanasius.

This semester we had two students serve as Teaching Assistants in our department. Sage is a senior Bible & Theology and History major. Amillya is a junior Ministry major. Sage and Amillya are planning to pursue graduate studies after MNU. They have done great work this semester and we are so excited for them as they continue to follow God’s call.

Thanks to a generous donation from a friend of our department, each ministry major received a copy of She Leads by Robbie Cansler (The Foundry Publishing) as an early Christmas gift this morning. This book will be the focus of a department book discussion in the spring semester. We are very grateful to this anonymous donor as we look forward to a meaningful conversation about the affirmation of women in ministry!

We had the opportunity to hear one of our adjunct professors, Dr. Deanna Hayden, preach in MNU chapel service yesterday. We are so grateful for her faithful teaching and preaching. Her pastoral voice is a blessing both behind the pulpit and in the classroom!

Students, faculty, and friends of the department gathered yesterday to celebrate the release of Dr. Jonathan Platter's new book, The Simplicity of God: A Theological Invitation. We are so grateful for the faithful writing and teaching Dr. Platter contributes to our department on a regular basis, and especially proud of this great accomplishment. The winner of a caption contest received a signed copy of the book. Thank you Dr. Bohn for the creative illustration of Dr. Platter yo-yoing!
