Love this! Every child is different!

What time should my 3 or 4 year old go to bed?! 😴

I had a few requests for this chart in my last post so figure it would be time for a re-share!

This age can be SO tricky because bedtime can look completely different depending on whether your child napped that day and how long that nap was!

A 3-year-old who skipped their nap may be ready for bed surprisingly early, while that same child might need significantly more awake time before bed after a solid afternoon nap.

So instead of choosing one bedtime and sticking to it no matter what happened during the day, I like to let morning wakeup time + daytime sleep help guide us.

A few things to remember:

💤 These are starting points, not hard-and-fast rules! Some kiddos have higher or lower sleep needs.
💤 The timing of the nap matters too. A later nap will generally mean a later bedtime.
💤 If bedtime is suddenly taking FOREVER, your child may simply not be ready for sleep yet.
💤 If your no-nap kiddo is melting down by dinner, don’t be afraid of an early bedtime!
💤 And if your 3-4 year old is starting to skip naps some days but still desperately needs one on others… welcome to the very glamorous nap-dropping stage! 🥴

SAVE this one for the next time you have no clue what time to get your preschooler to bed! 🐝

The Connection Lab!

“Ms.Sydney created this apart of our new routine Connections Lab!!!! 🧠🩵

Each day before lunch we discuss what the feelings mean and how the child is feeling they will then be asked to place their popsicle stick in the pocket slot of the feelings just to do a check in to see how we are all feeling before lunch/rest time.”

“The kiddos learned about the body part of their bones today and the importance having them as apart of our body.

The clothes pin and pom-pom activity was apart of our new part of our schedule added Connections Lab. This activity was focused on attention, communication in a respectful manner, patience as well as strengthing their fine motor skills. Each time it was a childs turn to pass the pom-pom over I would encourage the kids to say the childs name next to them that was getting for their turn and patiently wait their turn to use the clothes pins and not their hands to work together and get the pom-pom. They had a lot of fun with the activity!! “

💙 We Asked, and Our Families Shared! 💙

We recently invited our families to provide honest feedback about their experience at OBarto STEM School, and we are incredibly grateful for every family who took the time to respond!

Here are a few highlights from the results:

⭐ 4.88 out of 5 average across all satisfaction questions
⭐ 4.8 out of 5 for overall family satisfaction
⭐ 9.6 out of 10 likelihood of recommending our program to another family

We are especially proud that 100% of responding families gave us a 5 out of 5 in these areas:

💙 Their child feels safe, welcomed, and cared for
🧠 Our classrooms provide meaningful and age appropriate learning experiences
🔬 Our STEM activities, creative projects, sensory experiences, and learning centers support their child’s development
✨ Our school appears clean, organized, safe, and welcoming

Families shared that they especially appreciate:

• The genuine love and care their children receive
• Our structure and consistent routines
• Hands on and age appropriate learning experiences
• The friendships their children are building
• Our communication and Brightwheel updates
• The individual attention given to each child
• The ways our teachers support children’s developmental, behavioral, and emotional needs

Our photos and videos were the most valued Brightwheel updates, followed by daily notes, diapering and toileting updates, and incident or health information. We love giving families a glimpse into their child’s day and helping them feel connected to all the learning, playing, and growing happening here!

We are also incredibly proud of our entire team: Mr. Braydon, Ms. Jasmine, Ms. Jordan, Ms. Rylee, and Ms. Sydney. Our families celebrated the patience, communication, reassurance, individualized support, and meaningful relationships our staff have built with the children.

One parent shared that they have never doubted their child is “safe, loved, and in the absolute best hands” while in our care. They described that feeling as priceless. 🥹💙

Thank you to every family who trusts us with their children. Your support, encouragement, and feedback mean more to our small business than we can express. We are so proud of the loving, engaging, and educational environment our team continues to create each day!

Thank you for being part of the OBarto STEM School family! 🧠🔬💙

🧠💛 Introducing Our New Connection Lab! 💛🧠

We are excited to introduce a new dedicated part of our daily routine: Connection Lab!

During this time, children will participate in intentional activities that strengthen:

✨ Social-emotional development
✨ Communication and language skills
✨ Cooperation and teamwork
✨ Friendship-building
✨ Emotional awareness and self-regulation
✨ Confidence and problem-solving

Through group conversations, stories, games, role-playing, and hands-on activities, our children will practice the important skills they need to express themselves, understand others, build healthy relationships, and feel confident in the classroom.

We cannot wait to watch our children connect, communicate, and grow together in the Connection Lab! 💬🫶

Our Infant Program: Tiny Techies - Mr. Braydon

Mr. Braydon with his babies!

He is constantly helping them reach their developmental milestones, and the babies can move everywhere now. It’s been a joy to watch them achieve their goals.

Sometimes it is hard seeing your buddy crawl around or pulling up on tables, climbing on mats. They definitely all motivate each other!

They love story time, Manipulatives, tummy time, working on gross motor skills and more!
