📣 Attention all Oklahomans (and anyone else interested in using your voice to advocate for school counselors and the students we serve)! We need positive public comment. Your voice matters!

🌟Oklahoma has just released a proposed rule that would ensure school counselors spend 80% of their time providing direct and indirect student services. This would be a HUGE improvement from the non-counseling tasks many Oklahoma school counselors are tasked with.

💬What does that mean?! School counselors could focus on supporting ALL students and their academic, social and emotional, and college and career development.

✍️ School counselors, teachers, parents, ANYONE!! We need your help— write your public comment today and help make a difference!

What a FULL and FUN three days in Maine as we transition Yoga 4 Classrooms from the one and only Lisa Flynn, to me! We accomplished SO much and I am so hopeful about the future of Yoga 4 Classrooms! In addition to full days of meetings, I also mailed my first Yoga 4 Classrooms Activity Cards orders (Yay!). What a special bonus that Lisa’s town is so, so charming and the hospitality was amazing!! 💚

✨ Beyond thrilled to share that I am now the owner of Yoga 4 Classrooms! ✨
The mission of Yoga 4 Classrooms is to empower educators to create classrooms that embody a culture of compassion and inclusion, support whole child development, and enhance student success, one mindful moment at a time. Lisa Flynn created something really special in 2007 and I am delighted to carry it on and continue to grow it in important and beautiful ways. Intentional yoga and mindfulness totally transformed my school counseling program and I am so excited to help bring it to schools across the nation. I love hearing all the guesses about what’s coming up next in my world! By far the most common guess was consultant— and YES! I do love consulting, training, and presenting. I’ve been doing that type of work through Counselor Kirk, LLC for several years and just love it! Check out my website for more info. That is one side of the business card BUT there is another side of the business card that no one has guessed yet!! 🤪

I heard everything from principal to private practice to professor to school counselor! All sound like amazing career ideas and maybe some of those will be next! 😉
