Dear OKCPS Families and Friends,
As we transition into March, I want to welcome the arrival of Spring and acknowledge the significance of Womenโs History Month. This is a season of renewal and growth, but it is also a critical time for us to remain vigilant regarding our operational safety and academic momentum.

The safety of our students remains my primary concern. In accordance with Oklahoma state law, our district maintains rigorous safety protocols to ensure every campus is prepared for unpredictable weather. Our students participate in regular fire, intruder, and tornado drills throughout the academic year. When atmospheric conditions indicate a risk of severe weather, we strictly adhere to the established District Weather Plan. I encourage you to review these procedures so that your family is familiar with our communication channels during such events.

I would like to offer a sincere commendation to the participants of the All-City Rhythm Dance showcase. We saw 257 dedicated scholars from 16 of our middle and high schools take the stage to demonstrate their talent and discipline. Their performance was a testament to the vibrant arts culture within our district and the hard work of our educators and families who support them.

Spring Break is scheduled for March 16 through March 20. While I hope our students and staff take this time to rest and recharge, I ask that you encourage your children to remain engaged with literature. Maintaining a consistent reading habit during breaks is essential for cognitive retention and academic success.

Finally, the enrollment period for the 2026-2027 school year is currently open. Securing your scholarโs place early allows the district to allocate resources and staffing effectively for the upcoming year. Please visit our website to complete the enrollment process at your earliest convenience.
Thank you for your continued partnership in the education and well-being of our scholars.
Take Care!
