⚠️ Weather Alert, Sorors ⚠️

As severe weather continues to impact portions of the Mid-Western Region, I encourage each of you to remain weather aware and prioritize your safety and the safety of your families.

Please monitor local weather reports, follow the guidance of emergency management officials, and take all necessary precautions regarding high winds, hail, flooding, and other severe weather threats.

If you, a chapter member, or your community has been significantly affected by severe weather, please contact the Mid-Western Regional Office so we may be aware and provide appropriate support and assistance.

Most importantly, stay safe, stay prepared, and continue to check on one another. Sisterhood extends beyond our meetings and events. It is demonstrated in how we care for one another during challenging times.

Keeping all affected communities in my thoughts and prayers.

With Service on My Mind and Sisterhood in My Heart,

Anika Starling

🖤💵 Black Dollar Days: Week 1 Recap & Week 2 Challenge 💵🖤

The first week of Black Dollar Days is officially in the books, and our Sorors are already making an impact!

Our Feed the Movement | Food & Beverage challenge encouraged Sorors across the Magnificent Mid-Western Region to support Black-owned restaurants, cafes, bakeries, caterers, food trucks, and beverage brands. Every meal purchased was an intentional investment in Black entrepreneurship and economic empowerment.

During Week 1, participating chapters logged a total of $9,688.92 in support of Black-owned food and beverage businesses!

Week 1 Chapter Totals

Xi Tau Omega — $6,224.48
Sigma Sigma Omega — $3,316.07
Psi Chi Omega — $88.00
Beta Sigma Omega — $40.26
Alpha Iota Omega — $20.11
Thank you to every Soror who chose to spend with purpose and help strengthen our communities one dollar at a time. Together, we're demonstrating the power of intentional spending and economic impact.

It's not too late to log your Week 1 purchases! If you supported a Black-owned food or beverage business during Week 1 but haven't submitted your spending yet, we want to count your impact. Every dollar helps us showcase the collective power of the Magnificent Mid-Western Region.

Now it's time for Week 2!

Glow Different | Beauty, Wellness & Self-Care

Spend at Black-owned salons, spas, skincare brands, fitness studios, and wellness practitioners. Whether you're getting your hair done, treating yourself to a facial, purchasing wellness products, or investing in your health and fitness, every dollar spent is a vote for Black excellence.

Let's keep the momentum going as we work toward the Magnificent Mid-Western Region's goal of generating $750,000 in Black-owned business spending throughout June.

💗 Wear Pink.
💚 Spend Green.
🖤 Buy Black.

It’s the first of June, and we are ready to, “Feed the Movement!”

This week, we are Wearing Pink, Spending Green, and Buying Black by intentional spending with Black-owned restaurants, cafes, bakeries, food trucks, and beverage brands.

Our collective goal is $8 million this month, and it starts with just $19.08. That’s one delicious meal, one specialty coffee, or one sweet treat. Let’s help “Build Our Economic Wealth,” one bite (or sip!) at a time.

Tag your favorite food or drink business below, and let’s celebrate together!🩷💚🖤

The word is out----Thank you Pastor John Wesley for blessing one of my schools in the Mid-Western Region. You're work and efforts are noted. Thanks for hearing my call and answering the concerns.

The historic Alexandria, Virginia-based Alfred Street Baptist Church stepped in to fully fund the Legion of Black Collegians (LBC) at the University of Missouri (Mizzou). The LBC is the nation's first and only Black student government. The church's intervention provides a crucial lifeline after the university pulled designated funding due to compliance pressure tied to anti-DEI directives.
