August 1 marks the start of National Breastfeeding Month, and on August 15-21, we celebrate !
To kick off, AANHPI Breastfeeding week, please join Breastfeed LA: The Breastfeeding Task Force of Greater Los Angeles and the Asian American Native Hawaiian Pacific Islander Lactation Collaborative for a FREE webinar “Beyond Words: Lactation Support for Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Families”.
Friday, August 15 | 12:00pm – 1:30pm PDT
LIVE Registration is FREE | CEUs + Recording Access: $15
In honor of AANHPI Lactation Week, BreastfeedLA and the AANHPI Lactation Collaborative presents part one of a multi-part webinar series on language and lactation. This first session features a panel discussion of health professionals and community members. Together, we will center the lived experiences of clients who do not share the same language as their lactation providers, challenge deficit-based assumptions, and reframe linguistic diversity as a strength. We’ll also explore how systemic and institutional factors contribute to viewing language difference as a problem, and offer strength-based, culturally responsive strategies to better serve culturally and linguistically diverse families.

Invest in breastfeeding, invest in the future.
Today we start World Breastfeeding Week 2025, and Breastfeeding USA maintains its mission to provide evidence-based breastfeeding information and support, and to promote breastfeeding as the biological and cultural norm.
All families need support, support requires an investment of time and resources. Fortunately, investing in breastfeeding generates many returns in the health of babies, children, parents and nations.
Please consider donating to our fundraiser, and supporting our network of certified Breastfeeding counselors so we can continue investing in breastfeeding families.

Did you know?
Foremilk and hindmilk aren’t two separate types of milk, but rather a gradual change in fat content during a feeding. Your baby gets everything they need from your milk.
