Wingland Elementary

I am a grateful principal because of my staff who always puts the needs of students above everything else. They are fully engaged with your children every day and provide nutritious and delicious instruction. We have green fields for soccer and new dinosaur chalkboards for TK and K (Thank you Mrs. MacKinnon). Our music teacher, Ms. Johnson, has a new classroom space on the stage. This is a wonderful way to kick off the 70th year of Wingland.

Dear Wingland Families,
Here are some reminders about entrance and exit.

Douglas Street Parent Loop - This is for all students. TK enters through the TK gate and grades K-5 enter through the K gate. As soon as your vehicle is in the loop your child may exit the vehicle, they do not need to wait for anyone to open the door. Only exit the passenger side, do NOT exit the driver's side or a moving vehicle may strike your child or rip your door off. In the morning, no one should park across the street unless they are using the crosswalks. Please do NOT cross through traffic. That is very unsafe.

Francis Street Gate - This gate is for all students in grades 1-5. Please slow down on this street for the safety of everyone.

Diane Drive Gate - This gate is for all students in grades 1-5. Please slow down on this street for the safety of everyone.

Office Gate - This is for walkers only. No vehicles are allowed in the office parking lot during dropoff and pickup.

Today is the First Day of School!!

Wingland 2026/27 New Times
Every Morning - Gates open at 7:55am - Gates lock at 8:10am
Afternoon - TK and Kindergarten release at 2:25pm. Grades 1-5 release at 2:40pm

Wednesdays - Same morning times.
Afternoon - TK and Kindergarten release at 1:30pm. Grades 1-5 release at 1:35pm. The first day of school is an early release day. The Explore program runs like normal.

Please also note that the first day of school is Wednesday, August 12th, and it will be our first Early Release Wednesday of the year. Thank you for your continued partnership and support. We are looking forward to a great school year together! - Principal Conolly

The grass is green and the carpet in 4th grade is new!! We are excited to see your children on the first day of school, August 12th. Special thanks to our custodial crew for working hard all summer to make Wingland shine.

Tuesday, August 11th 2-3pm - Meet & Greet at Wingland to see classrooms and meet teachers. Class lists will be posted outside the office at 2pm.

Wednesday, August 12th - First day of school and our first early out at 1:35pm for grades 1-5. TK and K students are released at 1:30pm.

Wednesday, August 19th - Early Out and Back to School Night with a Title I presentation in the cafeteria at 5pm. Classroom visitations will have two identical sessions at 5:30pm and 6pm. The evening will end promptly at 6:30pm so Wingland staff can get home to be ready for school the next morning.

Monday, SEPT7 - Labor Day - No School

Friday, July 31st - District Family Summit at Wingland from 10am - 1pm. Wingland, Highland, Standard Elementary, and Standard Middle School will be there to answer any questions you have and pick up registration packets.

Tuesday, August 4th - The Wingland office opens for parents to pick up registration packets for enrollment at Wingland. You can also do this at the Family Summit on July 31st.

Rooms 14-19 are being prepped for new carpet. The planters are full of flowers, vegetables, and herbs. All the trees have been trimmed. Classrooms are being deep cleaned. Our teams are working hard to be ready for the first day of the 26/27 school year, which is Wednesday, August 12th.
