๐Ÿฆธโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿ’ฅ Room 7 got creative with indoor gross motor play today!

As part of our superhero theme this week, the children participated in an "Asteroid Toss" challenge. Using homemade asteroid balls made from tin foil, the children practiced throwing them through the target just like superheroes saving the day!

This fun activity helped strengthen gross motor skills, hand-eye coordination, aim, balance, and body control while encouraging active play indoors. The children cheered each other on, practiced taking turns, and worked on perseverance as they tried to land their asteroids through the opening.

Learning is always more exciting when superheroes are involved! ๐Ÿ’ซ๐Ÿš€

๐ŸŒฎ Kids Cafรฉ was a delicious success today!

The children made their very own taco dip from start to finish. First, they practiced their fine motor skills by using child-safe knives to cut lettuce and tomatoes. They worked carefully and safely while strengthening the hand muscles needed for future writing skills.

Next, the children measured, spread, layered, and topped their taco dip while practicing important math concepts like counting, measuring, and sequencing. We talked about the different ingredients, textures, and flavors that came together to create our tasty snack.

The best part? Enjoying their creations with tortilla chips and sharing their favorite ingredients with friends! Many children were excited to try new foods and, of course, took some home to share with their families.

Great job, chefs! ๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿณ๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿณ๐ŸŒฎ

In our infant classroom, the children gathered together for group story time! ๐Ÿ“šโœจ

Even at a very young age, group story time is so important for early development. As the teachers read aloud, the babies practiced listening skills, language development, and social interaction with their peers. They explored pictures, listened to different sounds and tones in the story, and began building early literacy skills through repetition and engagement.

Group story time also helps infants learn routines, attention skills, and how to participate in a shared classroom experience. We loved watching their curious faces light up as they turned pages, pointed to pictures, and listened to the story together! ๐Ÿ’•

Today in Kids Cafรฉ, the children became little chefs and scientists as they made two different types of fresh juice! ๐ŸŽ๐ŸŠ

First, the children practiced their fine motor skills by using child-safe knives to cut already washed apples and oranges. Next, they took turns feeding the fruit into the juicer and using the plunger to push the fruit down. The children were amazed as they watched the fruit transform from a solid into a liquid right before their eyes โ€” it felt like magic! (It was SCIENCE!) โœจ

After all of their hard work, the children got to taste their fresh juice creations. To discover which flavor was the class favorite, the children participated in a fun math activity by signing their names on a graph column under their favorite juice! ๐Ÿ“Š This helped the children practice early math skills like counting, comparing quantities, and interpreting data.

Many children enjoyed both flavors, but orange juice won by just one! ๐Ÿงก

Today our little artists in Room 2 explored process art using tape resist painting! ๐ŸŽจ๐Ÿ–Œ๏ธ

The children used paintbrushes to spread and mix bright colors across their papers while discovering how colors blend together. This activity helped strengthen fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, creativity, and sensory exploration.

The tape underneath created fun hidden lines and shapes, making the finished artwork even more exciting when revealed! We love giving our toddlers opportunities to freely explore art, textures, and self-expression. ๐Ÿ’™

Our Infant Room had so much fun exploring painting in a creative new way using paper towel rolls as stamps! ๐ŸŽจโœจ

The children practiced their fine motor skills by grasping and pressing the rolls into the paint, while also exploring cause and effect as they discovered the different shapes and patterns they could create. Activities like this help support sensory exploration, hand-eye coordination, creativity, and early cognitive development through hands-on play.

Most importantly, our little learners had a blast experimenting with colors, textures, and making their own unique artwork! ๐Ÿ’™
