✨ Medal Monday ✨

Kristen had herself a DAY at the SOS Triathlon.

10th female overall.
1st in her age group.
And she won every single swim segment.

But as impressive as those results are, what we are most proud of is how she raced.

Kristen went in with no expectations. Her only intention was to show up and approach each leg as it came.

And she did exactly that.

She swam like a beast. She fueled. She stayed hydrated. No cramps. She smiled. A lot. And she just kept moving forward.

She called her proudest accomplishment her consistency throughout the race.

“I just kept going. Endless reserve.”

That reserve didn’t come from nowhere.

It came from the work.

The training. The consistency. The days that didn’t feel like training. The work that was building something deeper than fitness.

And then there was the racing.

Late in the final run, another athlete passed her on the last uphill. Kristen caught her on the downhill and they arrived at the next swim together.

The other athlete stopped to take her shoes off.

Kristen looked at the moment and made a decision.

Don’t think. Just go.

She jumped in with her shoes on.

Was swimming with shoes annoying? Absolutely. 😂

Was it worth it? Absolutely.

She trusted what she was feeling, made the decision in the moment, and went for it.

This is one of the things I love about racing.

You can have a plan. You can train for months. You can prepare the body and the mind.

And then race day gives you something you couldn’t have planned for.

What do you do with it?

Kristen showed us.

Stay present.
Stay curious.
Trust the work.
Keep going.

That’s performance.

And that’s why we race.

Congratulations Kristen. You earned every bit of this one. 🔥

This is YogiTriathlete Coaching. We work on the body, the mind, and the space between the two so you can show up ready for whatever the day brings.

We could have opened a liquor store.

That’s the line Jess and I have laughed about through more than a few of YogiTriathlete’s near-death experiences. Somehow, every time we made it through another one, there it was: we could have opened a liquor store.

Instead, we spent the last decade building something most endurance athletes weren’t asking for.

A place to train the mind alongside the body in a way no one had ever done before.

When we started talking about nervous system regulation, mindset, breath, presence, burnout and the psychology of performance, it was niche. Really niche.

We kept going anyway.

Today, we coach the 1%—not the fastest 1%, but the people willing to look at endurance sport differently. The ones who want to understand themselves as deeply as they understand their training.

We’re still niche.

And we’re still redefining the HOW of endurance sports.

Turns out, we like this life better than the liquor store.

✨ Monday Momentum ✨

Three athletes. Three very different ways of building endurance. One common thread: keep showing up.

Anne celebrated her birthday the best way she knows how: running 50K with friends and family.

This one has been a long time coming. Working with both Jess and BJ, Anne has done the work every step of the way. And her training hasn’t lived inside one neat little box.

She’s completed her own HYROX, raced triathlons and Stroke & Strides, ran a fast 5K, and now added a 50K to the list.

Endurance athletes can have it all.

It just takes patience, presence, and perseverance.

Brendan stepped up to his first Olympic-distance triathlon at the Boston Triathlon and finished 7th in his age group with a strong push to the finish.

The years of Ironman and 70.3 racing have built the endurance foundation. Now Brendan is learning how to put speed on top of it and race fast, free, and with a completely different energy.

Going long and racing short ask different questions.

That’s exactly what has made this season so exciting for him.

Kristen spent the week with family in the Adirondacks and somehow found time to bag seven 4,000-foot peaks, swim in the lake, and keep training for the SOS Triathlon this weekend.

Because training doesn’t always look like a workout on the schedule.

Sometimes it looks like adventure. Family. Mountains. Cold water. A little creativity.

This is what we love about endurance.

It can become part of your life rather than something you have to organize your life around.

Different athletes. Different goals. Different paths.

But the same practice:

Stay curious. Keep showing up. See what’s possible.

This is YogiTriathlete Coaching.

Coaching the body. Training the mind. Creating athletes who are ready for whatever comes next.

You have to participate in your own clarity.

“I just want to make sure it’s the right fit.”

We hear it all the time.

And we have to ask: how bad could the fit really be? A week in a Blue Zone, in Costa Rica, at a world-class retreat center in freaking paradise?

Things become clear in the process, as we move toward them.

So move.

Come swim in a cove off the coast of Central America. Run the most runnable beach we’ve ever known. Practice yoga in the jungle. Get extremely well fed. Train your mind and use the tools of mindset to get clear on what’s next.

This isn’t a training camp.
It’s not a retreat.
It’s both.

And we’re down to the final rooms available for May 8–15, 2027.

If Costa Rica has been on your mind, this is the moment to make the call.

Are you coming?

There’s only one way to find out what lives on the other side of the yes.

We’d love for you to find out with us.

Ironman to Iceland

We came back from Iceland + Lake Placid and went straight back to routine. That’s exactly why this convo matters - tag someone who needs the reminder that growth doesn’t happen when life is easy. It happens when you’re in it. Jess went to Iceland. BJ raced an Ironman.

Neither trip went “perfectly.” But that was the point.

* Iceland was wild, windy, rainy, beautiful, and full of moments you can’t script.

* Lake Placid exposed the difference between what you think works and what actually works on race day.

* Both trips reminded us that you don’t need certainty to keep going - you need presence and community.

The real win wasn’t the perfect outcome.

It was the clarity, the discomfort, the lessons, and the people we met along the way. Maybe that’s the whole thing - the adventure changes you before the finish line does.

✨ Medal Monday ✨

Our athletes are showing us that there’s more than one way to build an athlete.

🏊‍♂️🚴‍♂️🏃‍♂️ Luca took on the Chula Vista Sprint Triathlon this weekend, and when the water temps came in too warm for wetsuits, he simply got on with it. No problem.

He crushed the transitions, too, putting into practice the work we’ve been doing behind the scenes. There’s always another opportunity to learn, refine, and get better, and Luca continues to embrace that process.

But what makes his journey even more impressive is everything else happening alongside triathlon.

Cross country. Marching band. Triathlon.

That’s a full plate for anyone, let alone a young athlete. Yet Luca keeps finding a way to show up, work hard, and most importantly, enjoy it all.

That’s the lesson.

Performance isn’t about fitting yourself into one box. It’s about discovering what you’re capable of, staying curious, and finding ways to keep moving forward.

🚴‍♀️ Brenda put in some serious work at the Tour de Whidbey, riding 100K with 4,400 feet of elevation as she continues her preparation for the Ironman 70.3 World Championships in Nice, France next month.

This is the work that happens before the big stage. The miles, the climbing, the patience, the consistency. Each ride another opportunity to build confidence and prepare the body and mind for what’s ahead.

From balancing three completely different pursuits to preparing for a World Championship, our athletes remind us that there are many ways to build strength, confidence, and momentum.

With the right mindset, a little consistency, and a willingness to have fun with the process…

Anything is possible.

Keep going, Luca and Brenda. There’s so much more ahead. 🔥

There’s a reason we chose this place.

We’ve been to Blue Spirit before, and when we started dreaming up the Awake Athlete Retreat, we knew we wanted to come back — and bring you with us.

Blue Spirit Costa Rica sits high above the Pacific, tucked into the jungle on the Nicoya Peninsula. Vibrant and alive. Completely removed from the pace of everyday life.

Have you ever truly experienced what that means?

This isn’t a training camp or a retreat.
It’s both.

We’d love for you to join us.
