South Ocala Elementary School

What a beautiful last school day!!! Fifth grade and I had an amazing final walk around campus after our faculty against students kickball tournament and cookout. Of course the teachers won 12:6 but the students did put forth great effort.

Thank you again for partnering with me to serve these 5 years as principal at SOE. Such a rewarding experience!

We ended the school day with our end of the school year celebration! Thank you Mrs. McDonald and Mrs. King for leading and setting up the decor. We had fun and enjoyed some food after the games and fun. 😄 Congrats 1st grade teachers for winning.

We had an amazing evening yesterday honoring our 5th grade students at the promotion ceremony. Congratulations to our students! Thank you to our teachers, paras, interpreters for supporting our students. Thank you Mrs. Johnson, principal at Osceola Middle, for sharing a few words of encouragement.

Congrats to our 2nd grade students achieving high honors throughout the school year. We are so proud of you.

We also had the Black Stallion Project for our 4th grade students. Students had a chance to learn about Drake who travels around the world competing with Lexi the trainer. Students also received a book to read more. On Saturday and Sunday, if you are interested in watching horses, visit the Horse park in Belleview from 8-5 this weekend.

Today we proudly recognize our students who participated in “We the People” this evening. Your hard work, preparation, teamwork, and commitment to learning about our Constitution and civic responsibility truly represented excellence. You demonstrated confidence, critical thinking, and leadership while showcasing the importance of student voice and citizenship. We are incredibly proud of our students and how they represented South Ocala. Our students won for the district once again.

A special recognition and heartfelt thank you to Ms. Prieto for the guidance, encouragement, and countless hours invested in preparing our students for this meaningful experience. Your passion for teaching and commitment to student success inspired our scholars to rise to the challenge and perform with excellence. Thank you for empowering students to become informed leaders and active citizens for the future.

Thank you Mrs. Miller for coordinating the “We the People” event this evening with other schools. We appreciate you and the vision you have for civic education.

The NEHS proudly participated in the Buddy Bench dedication alongside Altrusa in honor of Nancy F. Jones. Thank you Ms. Colleen for welcoming South Ocala to participate.

As part of their service project, students collected recycled materials used to create the beautiful polywood Buddy Bench, a meaningful symbol of kindness, friendship, and inclusion for our school community.

We are incredibly proud of our students’ hard work and dedication to service. A special thank you to Mrs. Dodge for her outstanding leadership and commitment to guiding our students throughout the year.

Once upon a time, South Ocala hired amazing educators to support learning on campus.

Congratulations 🎊🎉 to our Teacher of the Year: Mrs. Dodge and Rookie Teacher of the Year: Mrs. Deas. We honor you this evening and we are so proud of both of you!

Today, we had a special 4th and 5th grade assembly. Middle school principals and students from Howard and Osceola Middle School shared motivation speeches to encourage our students. Our Yellowjackets had great questions to ask as they work hard in elementary to prepare for middle school. Special thank you to our feeder pattern schools Mrs. Parker, Ms. Hamel, 8th grade student from Howard Middle, Mrs. Johnson and 8th geade student from Osceola Middle and Mrs. Kinard for their support.

We having a great time with Literacy Week as we promote literacy and support reading.
