🎓✨ ETIQUETTE QUESTION OF THE WEEK ✨🎓

One of my favorite things about teaching etiquette is that the questions are rarely about which fork to use! 🍴😊

Yesterday, a friend reached out with a graduation-season dilemma. She had been invited to a joint graduation party honoring two graduates. She knew one graduate and his family very well, but only knew the other graduate casually and had never met his parents.

Her question: "Do I need to bring a gift for both graduates?" 🎁🤔

The answer is yes... and no.

🎓 Since both graduates are being honored, it is thoughtful to acknowledge both.

🎁 However, etiquette does not require equal gifts. A larger gift for the graduate you know well is perfectly appropriate.

💌 A simple congratulatory card or small token gift for the other graduate is a kind gesture.

❤️ And if you truly don't know the other graduate or family, your attendance and congratulations are enough.

At its heart, etiquette isn't about rigid rules. It's about kindness, consideration, and helping others feel valued. 🌟

When in doubt, choose the option that is thoughtful, gracious, and sincere. Those choices are almost always the right ones. 😊
