As the week winds to a close, we reflect on the many hours that we have spent doing work in the great organization that is the FFA. This school year has flown by! The State FFA Convention came and went just as fast! Our chapter was recognized on stage infront of the whole state both days of convention and we couldn’t be more proud of the hard work that our FFA members have been doing!

2026 State FFA Convention High Points:

Our chapter served on the Courtesy Corps team this year between sessions 5 and 6.

Our state winning judging team went across stage to receive their accolades.

We went to the FFA Concert which was The Great Divide and the Logan Ryan Band.

Senior Ketcher Kirk was awarded the highest level degree that an FFA member can obtain at the state level and was recognized on stage.

Ms. True brought up a group of students to watch our team get recognized on Tuesday.
Thanks Ms. True!

We ate a lot of good food, stayed in a wonderful hotel, and had an absolute blast at convention this week! When we returned home to school, we were escorted home by the Oaks Fire Department and our awesome resource officer and students lined the road with signs to congratulate our team and welcome us home. Thank you to everyone who helped make this trip possible for our chapter! 😎

Yesterday was more than a full day, but probably the most fun trip that we’ve been on this year! We started out the day by making a stop for breakfast at Drake’s in Grove and then onto the Quapaw Nation Buffalo facility. Students learned about how the tribal nations raise buffalo, and the heritage behind them. We rode along with one of Mr. Weaver’s friends from college and he was an awesome tour guide! After we left the buffalo facility, we went to lunch at the Petro Stopping Center. Petro is a huge truck stop with a food court and many show trucks inside- sort of like a truck stop version of Buc-ee’s but with lots of things to do. After lunch, we made it to Neosho high school and competed in a poultry evaluation contest. Students did exceptionally well, but narrowly finished as the 2nd place team from Oklahoma for this contest. Next week, we are off to Roland, Poteau, and Coweta for more poultry evaluation. The following week, we head to Keys and then onto Stillwater for the state championship contest.
*(Mr. Weaver was a reasons taker for this contest, so there are no photos of the students actively judging)*
Lorelei Horney: 1st place from OK
Ketcher Kirk: 6th place from OK
Lilly Busby: 9th place from OK
Hadley Conway: 13th place from OK
Kayde Pack: 15th place from OK
Nathan Butler: 16th place from OK
