Children Rising is an Oakland education nonprofit whose mission is to nurture and equip children to rise above the challenges created by generations of poverty, violence, and educational inequity. Our Vision is that every struggling child is reached by a caring community at a critical time in their life to nurture hope, the courage to dream, and the opportunity to thrive. Through our community engagement model, we are educating and energizing the broader community; recruiting, training, and supporting an array of highly skilled and experienced tutors and mentors; developing key strategic partnerships with schools and community partners; and empowering thousands of children and youth to rise above the challenges they face. **🙌 Your organizational skills could help Oakland kids succeed!**

Every year, caring community members step forward to tutor children in Oakland schools. But before they can begin, there's an onboarding process to navigate.

We're looking for a **Volunteer Onboarding Coordinator** to help welcome applicants, answer questions, track progress, and keep prospective volunteers moving toward the classroom.

✅ Approximately 5–8 hours per week
✅ Initial in-person training in Oakland, then primarily remote
✅ Flexible schedule, with training and staff support provided
