greetings dear ones,

yes it is true, the time has come for The Living Room Project to leave our space here at 1919 Market Street, and begin the process of finding a new home. this space has held me/us well in many ways over the last 3 ½ years, and i am very grateful for all that it has been.

however, over the last 9 months several things have changed/escalated in the building itself that make it impossible to continue to safely live here and run The Living Room Project as a healing/community space. the simplest answer to why is gentrification, however, as always the actual situation is more complicated than just that one word. it has gotten to a point where the harm, actual and potential, far outweighs the benefits of being here.

so after a lot of soul searching, ancestor readings, conversations with family/tribe, meetings with lawyers, etc i CHOSE to let this space go. and i made that difficult choice because i know that i, the Living Room Project, and QTPOC communties deserve something better than this, and because i deeply trust that there is something better out there.

i still hold that vision for me and for us. "we gon' be alright!"

A usual question is: who is massage and bodywork good for? The answer is: EVERYONE. The problem is: privilege. Most practitioners charge around $85 an hour. The bodywork being offered covers a wide range and is priced at an extremely reasonable cost. Bodywork is a great way to release tension and stress both physically and emotionally. I use modalities that focus directly on specific structural or chronic issues as well as the more energetic and relaxing techniques.

Leila Shaheen's externship for her senior segment at the National Holistic Institute is being held at The Living Room Project. All proceeds made go directly to The Living Room Project except for tips, which are gladly welcomed.
