The Renaissance International School is an independent, Montessori school in Oakland for boys and girls ages 2 years through Jr High with music, fine arts, and language immersion (French and Spanish). The school was founded in 1992 by Leslie Hites, who continues to serve as Head of School. We welcome all families and work closely with parents to foster our view of school as an extension of home.

We invite you to visit and see our students working. We hold introductory school tours throughout the year. Tours are two hours, for adults-only and are held on select weekday mornings at 9:30 a.m.

It's hard to believe, but we’ve reached the penultimate week of Summer Camps here at TRIS! This week, our Elementary Sports en Ville campers are combining physical activity, city exploration, and language immersion. They’re staying active with a packed schedule—including swimming, hiking, soccer, rugby, and dodgeball—all while practicing their conversational French (en français, s'il vous plaît! ).

We can't wait to see all the memories (and sportsmanship) made this week!

What a lovely end of year party for our PrePrimary and Primary children. Our TPA (The Parent Association), sponsored a Pizza and Popsicle lunch and a visit from My Reptile Guys! The children LOVED meeting the cute, creepy, crawly critters!

We opened our Annual Children's Art Show with a wonderful reception for our families and you are warmly invited to visit our TRIS Children's Art Show happening through Sunday, June 7 at our temporary gallery at South Shore Center in Alameda. The children's art is outstanding and it's a delight to see it in a proper gallery setting. We had a marvelous time enjoying the TRIS Elementary students’ cultural report presentations. Each student chose a subject of interest to them and delivered presentations to parents and younger students…in English, French or Spanish!
