Coral Conservation efforts by TRACC Borneo!
Coral conservation is the practice of protecting and restoring coral reefs, which are essential ecosystems that provide habitat for marine life, protect coastlines from erosion, and support fisheries and tourism industries. Coral reefs are under threat from a variety of human activities, including overfishing, pollution, climate change, and physical damage from boats.
Conservation efforts to protect coral reefs can involve a range of strategies, including:
Restoration: Restoring damaged coral reefs through practices such as coral gardening, artificial reefs, and coral transplantation can help rebuild the ecosystem and improve its resilience to future threats.
Sustainable fishing: Promoting sustainable fishing practices that avoid overfishing and destructive fishing methods, such as bottom trawling, can help reduce the impact of fishing on coral reefs.
Pollution control: Reducing pollution from land-based sources, such as agriculture and sewage, can help improve water quality and reduce the impact of pollution on coral reefs.
Climate change mitigation: Reducing greenhouse gas emissions and taking action to mitigate the impacts of climate change, such as ocean acidification and coral bleaching, can help protect coral reefs from the long-term impacts of climate change.
Public education and awareness: Educating the public about the importance of coral reefs and the threats they face can help raise awareness and support for conservation efforts.

7 Months after completing my first ever dive ... Dive Master training - Completed ! 🤙
I am now a professional scuba diver and I am responsible for leading and guiding certified divers on underwater tours and ensuring the safety of all divers in the water.
The course included a comprehensive certification program and extensive knowledge of dive theory, diving techniques, equipment maintenance, and emergency management.
I plan to dive at some of the best places in the world during my journey and if I enjoy the place, I may stay there for an extended period of time. This may include a dive center, resort, or live-aboard vessel.
I completed my Dive Masters at a Conservation Centre here in Malaysia, where I started my journey!
Thanks to TRACC Borneo for having me.
Thanks to Adam Gadd for introducing me to diving and recommending TRACC.
