Lambpen Christian Homeschool Ministries Encouragement from a CA veteran homeschooling mom with down to earth answers for everyone. I have been a Christian homeschooling mom since 1993.

My husband and I have five wonderful adult children. I desire to minister to others with the wisdom we have acquired from the Lord. Raised in a church going home, never knew the Lord or His Word, not taught in church or home, saw many hypocrites in the Christian community so believed it was all false. God called me to Himself when my first baby was born and provided a wonderful pastor Jon Allen in

Chino, CA to help me understand Scripture and show me that Christ was real even if some who claimed to follow Him were fake. Three years at Whispering Lakes Community church set me in good stead with the Bible and prayer. The Lord led me back to my hometown where we attended Living Word Fellowship and Pastor Bud Goings helped me grow in living for God and striving to be Christlike, holding everything up to the Word to see if it was true and worthy. There families like Jonathan and Connie Lindvall, Glenn and Roberta Bohlander, Mike and Jonelle George, and Ray and Marcia Ferrier were examples of homeschooling for the Lord, which spoke to our hearts and began our homeschooling journey in 1992. In 1997 we left our church and homeschool community and have never found that kind of support again. But God has given us a few mature Christian friends and a couple of homeschool families in the area. I am thankful for my online Christian homeschool circle to fill the rest of my fellowship needs.

I’m anti-school voucher.
I’m anti-ESA.
I’m anti-taxpayer-funded homeschool.

I’m a second generation homeschooler.
I’m a former single-mom homeschooler.
I’m a working-mom homeschooler.

I’m a taxpayer.

Now that I got that out of the way, I’m here to report that since we passed the ESA in Texas, we have homeschool moms asking for ideas on how to spend their thousands.

They applied for the money without actually knowing what they would spend it on.

That was meant for curriculum, right? You needed help homeschooling, right?

But now you have multiple thousands of dollars, and you need a list of ideas. So you buy things that taxpayers should not be subsidizing: backpacks, fancy pens, music, and programs you didn’t need and never heard of before.

I’ve seen one too many Facebook posts about this. I’m not making this up.

When veteran homeschoolers actively campaigned against this, we saw this coming. We knew that homeschooling could be done on a dime, because we’ve been there. We knew that waste is rampant in government programs of every kind. We knew it would be taken advantage of. We knew that the taxpayers would have to fund ridiculous shopping list items.

We knew.

And we also know that after all this, our homeschool freedom will be chiseled away, slowly, bit by bit, and the expense of someone’s free math book, wipe-off markers, and a cool backpack.

Hobby Lobby has all their back to school products 90% off. At my local one in Modesto there were maps, borders, letters, back to school banners, and much more for just a few cents. Their spring items are also 90% off and I got cute little wooden decor items for less than $1 and there were many more fun things.

✝️People of this world formulate foolish histories of cave men and tribal people without wisdom or understanding as the ancestors of modern man. But in fact those tribes who chose to walk away from the Lord, to live in the wilderness fleeing obedience to the Word of the One True God, lose His wisdom and understanding.

They chose to follow many false gods, worshipping the creation instead of the Creator. The Lord allowed them to leave His presence, the most bitter drink of all discipline, walking away from His knowledge, provision, and protection. God allowed them to be scattered around the nations of the world.

This left those tribes bereft of God's wisdom with only myths having vague references to truth, and without the benefit of His ideas bringing invention and innovation.
Jeremiah 9:13-16, 25-26

✝️May this cause us to proclaim the truth of the Lord Jesus Christ all the more to the lost of this world, giving them the greatest gift of bringing them back into the presence of the One True God.

Teachers!

Now is the time to book your field trip to Calaveras Big Trees State Park! Whether you want guided ($60/up to 60 students, free park entrance) or self-guided (everything free!) there are plenty of options available now.

Homeschoolers- September is your month! We want to accommodate everyone and often K-12 classrooms aren't ready yet to go on a field trip in September. We would love to have you! You are also welcome to ask for a time outside of September, but we ask that it is in the afternoon as often classrooms require the morning tour.
