We are pleased to welcome Kimberly Major to Harrow New York as our Director of Admissions.

Kim brings more than 30 years of experience in education, spanning admission, student life, and advancement roles at leading American universities and boarding schools. For the past decade, she has worked in the admission office at a distinguished IB boarding and day school, most recently as Director of Admission, where she recruited students from across the globe.

That international perspective arrives at a meaningful moment for Harrow New York, as we prepare to welcome international families and continue building on our recent authorization as an IB World School. Kim also brings a genuine familiarity with Long Island, having spent years recruiting in the region earlier in her career.

A graduate of Choate Rosemary Hall and Cornell University, Kim finds particular joy at the ocean, whether reading on the beach or simply taking in the view, a fitting pastime for a school with a thousand feet of shoreline of its own.

Harrow International School New York is proud to announce that it has officially been authorized as an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School.

This authorization places HISNY within a global network of IB World Schools committed to developing knowledgeable, caring young people ready to make a positive impact — locally, nationally, and internationally.

As a newly founded international boarding and day school on Long Island's South Shore, Harrow New York is expanding opportunities for students to challenge themselves academically while building the foundation for success here and at leading universities in the U.S. and around the world.

Harrow New York will continue offering the IB Middle Years Programme for students in grades 6 through 10. Known for its rigorous curriculum and emphasis on critical thinking, research, communication, and independent learning, the programme equips students with the skills they need to thrive in the years ahead, including in the IB Diploma Programme, which Harrow New York plans to start offering in the Fall of 2027.

Harrow International School New York was featured in Newsday's LI Life section back in June, following our founding Harrovians as they settled into a new campus and a new tradition. From ninth grader April rehearsing "Do-Re-Mi" for her fellow students to sixth grader Liam's love for the straw hats that trace back to Harrow UK, the piece captures what it means to be first.

One family said it best: "we feel like we got the golden ticket." Twenty-one students strong today, and every student who joins from here forward will help write the next chapter of what Harrow New York becomes.

Harrow International School has completed its first academic year at its new Oakdale campus, marking a major milestone for the British boarding school on Long Island.

The school welcomed its founding class this year and plans to continue expanding its campus, programs and enrollment in the years ahead.

Field Day at Harrow New York

Our inaugural Field Day brought together the entire school in a day of spirited House versus House competition. Students competed with courage, camaraderie, and good grace across a variety of challenges, embodying the Harrow Values in the finest tradition.

It was a fitting celebration of the close of our founding year — one marked by resilience, fellowship, and the simple joy of shared endeavour.

We are grateful to all who participated and made the day memorable.

Last week, Harrow International School New York marked the completion of its founding year at Speech Day.

This milestone belonged not to the institution, but to the people who built it: the students who brought curiosity and courage to every classroom, the families who placed their trust in something new, and the faculty who gave their expertise from the very first day.

From the outset, our commitment was to a Harrow education delivered with a rare degree of personal attention. Our faculty came to know their students not simply as learners, but as individuals, and that attentiveness was woven into the very structure of school life through our vertical house system, where older students guided and supported those in younger grades. Leadership at Harrow New York was never a distinction earned by a few. It was a habit cultivated by all.

The year reached its fitting conclusion at Speech Day, the ceremonial occasion that marks the end of the academic year across the Harrow Family of Schools. Founding students were recognized with awards and speeches reflecting on a remarkable first year, complemented by musical performances from across the school community.

To our founding students and families: this year belongs to you. We are honored by your trust and partnership, and we look forward to welcoming our new students this September, when together, founding and new students alike will continue to pioneer what Harrow New York can be.

We were delighted to welcome our new families to the beautiful back patio of the Bourne Mansion for the New Family Welcome BBQ.

It was a wonderful evening of connection, conversation, and community as we celebrated the beginning of what we know will be an extraordinary journey together at Harrow New York.

Congratulations to our 6th and 7th Grade Music Students

We are incredibly proud of our talented 6th and 7th graders for their outstanding piano duet performances in the piano lab last week.

In our dedicated piano lab, where every student has their own electronic piano, the young musicians showcased impressive skill, collaboration, and artistry. It was a joy to witness their hard work and growth come to life.

At Harrow New York, music is a vital part of a well-rounded education. It nurtures creativity, builds discipline and resilience, and powerfully supports academic development and cognitive growth.

Bravo to all of our students.
