Save Oakboro School (SOS)

Save Oakboro School (SOS) SOS is working to save Oakboro School from a closure that would prove to be detrimental to the Town of Oakboro. The Save Oakboro School (S.O.S.) The S.O.S.

initiative was created in 2011. The Stanly County Board of Education was facing an unknown amount in budget cuts, and the board explored options inlcuding the closure of Oakboro Elementary School. A group of concerned citizens joined together to create S.O.S. initiative was successful in their efforts to save Oakboro School. Now, in 2015, SOS is back in action as we fight to save Oakboro School in
