Know what the real kicker is? The actual title for this position is "Visiting Lecturer". Meaning it's a temp/adjunct post, despite it's near-full-time details. No tenure track. (Probably not union.) This is a "Come volunteer to get kicked in the teeth, and by volunteer, we mean that you won't actually get paid for the privilege" job.

This is why we need new leadership in higher education.

I'd like to thank everyone who helped out in any way - contributors, volunteers, people who liked the page and/or any posts, but most of all the voters who supported me. We didn't win, but I hope we got our message out. It was a very close race, and I fell just about 3% short of a win, with a number of other candidates all clustered together in the middle of the pack.

Congratulations to the winners, and I look forward to working with you to try to accomplish the things that I set out in my campaign, and most of all, to try to make OCC as good as it can possibly be.

I need all the help I can get to push through this last month and get my message about progressive education leadership, improved faculty-administration relations and part-time instructor representation out to as many Oakland County voters as possible. On September 21, my campaign was endorsed by Waterford Forward, a non-partisan civic and community engagement group dedicated to moving Waterford, and Oakland County as a whole, in a more positive, active, engaged and progressive direction.
