Nature's Place Early Learning Center, LLC

Nature's Place Early Learning Center, LLC Nature's Place ELC keeps a strong professional affiliation with All Aboard Preschool & Childcare! The objectives of our program?

Nature's Place Early Learning Center, LLC is a NH State licensed, year-round early learning program that offers high quality, flexible childcare, preschool and pre-k programming in a nature-inspired center with well qualified and background checked staff. Nature's Place Early Learning Center, LLC was opened in late December of 2020, when All Aboard ELC staff, Monica Rogier and Stephanie Laflamme,

purchased the previous program (All Aboard ELC) thus embarking on their dreams of owning an early childhood program. Nature's Place ELC is located inside the community space of the Nottingham Community Church right here in Nottingham. We are a small licensed program ( #6974) and offer both full and part-time, year round care for children aged 18 months to 6 years of age. Our mission, and privilege, is to continue to provide affordable, high quality early learning programming for children and families of all abilities in our nature-inspired, play based learning environment. We believe that children have the right to come to, and be supported in, a safe, healthy, positive learning environment where they can successfully learn about the world around them. We believe that children should be able to learn at their pace through hands on research in a play-based environment, where they can enjoy the balance of activities that reach every developmental domain and learning style - math through cooking, science through exploring various materials and attributes, art through exposure and use of various mediums language and social relationships through play and day to day interactions. We believe these happen with committed individuals who are dedicated to enriching the lives of every child, through their own personal and professional growth and development. Our philosophy emphasizes the "whole" child as an individual and programming is designed to work hand in hand with your child and his or her total development. Our teaching staff are committed to working with families to provide children with the strong base needed to begin their educational journey, but recognize we can not do this alone as the assistance of the family to help each child grow, in every area of development is necessary! Emphasis is placed on the process of the activity and not the final product and we work to help foster positive social relationships with our 3 "rules" - Be Kind, Be Safe and Have Fun! Nature's Place ELC welcomes children and families, regardless of race, color, marital statues (including civil unions) physical or mental abilities, religious creed, or financial need. We make every reasonable modification and accommodation to support families and children with special needs, as well as staff, by using a team approach and offering trainings, resources and referral agencies. Our team works hard to ensure that each child develops in their own time and pace, by offering a well-balanced curriculum that includes quiet and active activities, learning opportunities to interact and cooperate with peers and adults, developing positive self-esteem and confidence, gross and fine motor activities, exploring their own creativity, and participation in all areas that also include art, science, dramatic play and more!

♻️ We’re at 101 lbs so far!!! 🎉

Thank you to everyone who has helped us collect all of this in just a few months! 💚

We need 250 lbs to earn one entry into the end-of-September raffle… which means we’re only 149 lbs away! 🙌 Let’s see if we can make it happen!

Let’s keep collecting and see if we can reach our goal! 💚♻️

📣 If you’re choosing to donate, please be sure to check your bags and plastic to see if they can be recycled. Eligible plastic will have a #2 or #4 on it. Not all “plastic” is recyclable, so please make sure it meets the guidelines before adding it to our collection.

🍽️we’re learning a LOT around here. And yes… we’re also eating pretty well. 😉

Our PS & PK friends have been busy exploring round and ball-shaped foods over the past few weeks! We’ve taste-tested and experimented with cheese puff balls, mozzarella pearls, protein energy balls (with a few extra sprinkles to celebrate ✨), our very own homemade meatballs, melon (watermelon & cantaloupe) balls, and even some chocolate balls (Whoppers!) although those disappeared way too quickly for us to get pictures!

🧀🍝🍫

Of course, it’s not just about the yummy food! These moments are packed with opportunities for learning and development. Our friends are practicing fine motor skills as they scoop, roll, mix, and assemble, building hand-eye coordination, exploring textures, shapes, colors, and sizes, and strengthening their language and communication skills as they describe what they see, smell, feel, and taste.
We’re also working on important social-emotional and life skills like taking turns, following directions, trying new foods, making choices, and working together. Plus, cooking and food exploration are a fun & tasty way to introduce early math and science concepts like counting, measuring, comparing, and observing how ingredients change.

⚽🏀⚾ Ball Study Update!

Preschool has been busy creating all kinds of ball-themed crafts, I’m sure you’ve noticed them displayed around our room! Each activity has helped build important skills such as fine motor development, color matching, tracing, and more. We even painted with colorful baseball ice cubes! ❄️⚾ Talk about a cool cold-touch sensory experience!

Our favorite activities so far have been:

🎾 Watercolor painting with a tennis ball launcher!
Yes…it happens to be one our dogs’ toys! 🐶 They were kind enough to let us borrow it for a fun (and messy!) art experiment. 😉 Along the way, we talked about what the launcher is and what it is not, how we were using it differently, and had lots of laughs while creating colorful masterpieces. Paint washes away, but those memories will last forever!🫟🎨

🟢 Homemade sensory/stress balls!
Each child made their own sensory ball and will get to take it home after learning when and how to use it as a calming tool.

We’ve also been exploring which balls roll the fastest and have started discovering ball-shaped foods. Stay tuned for more photos next week after one more tasty experiment!

Our toddlers have been busy, too! They’ve been rolling balls, exploring different textures, weights, and sizes, reading lots of ball-themed books, and creating beautiful golf ball texture paintings.

One more thing…
Does anyone have a baseball, soccer ball, or basketball that they’d be willing to let us borrow? We’re planning a school-wide sink-or-float experiment with water play and would love to add a few larger balls to our investigation! Thank you!
