Using Windows Sandbox Feature on Windows:
Windows Sandbox is a feature available in Windows 10 Pro and Enterprise editions that allows you to run applications in an isolated environment, separate from your main operating system. Here's how to use Windows Sandbox:
Ensure Windows Sandbox is Enabled:
Windows Sandbox may need to be enabled in Windows Features. Go to Control Panel > Programs > Turn Windows features on or off, then check the box next to "Windows Sandbox" and click OK.
Launch Windows Sandbox:
Press Windows key + S to open the Search bar, type "Windows Sandbox," and select the "Windows Sandbox" app from the results.
Run Applications in Windows Sandbox:
Once Windows Sandbox opens, it will resemble a clean installation of Windows. You can install and run applications within this isolated environment just like you would on a regular Windows installation.
Copy Files into Windows Sandbox:
You can copy files from your main operating system into Windows Sandbox by simply dragging and dropping them onto the Sandbox window.
Exit Windows Sandbox:
When you're finished using Windows Sandbox, simply close the window. Any changes made within Windows Sandbox will be discarded, ensuring that your main operating system remains unaffected.
Customize Windows Sandbox Settings (Optional):
You can customize Windows Sandbox settings by right-clicking the Windows Sandbox icon in the Start menu, selecting "Properties," and adjusting options such as vRAM size, networking, and more.
Use Windows Sandbox for Testing and Experimentation:
Windows Sandbox is particularly useful for testing potentially harmful or unknown applications, browsing suspicious websites, and experimenting with system configurations without risking your main operating system.
Windows Sandbox provides a safe and isolated environment for testing applications and performing other tasks that may pose security risks to your main operating system. It's a valuable tool for users who want an extra layer of protection when experimenting with new software or browsing the web.
