May is Jewish American Heritage Month (JAHM) — a time to recognize, celebrate, and reflect on the history, culture, and contributions of Jewish people in the United States 🇺🇸✨
Established in 2006, JAHM honors more than 350 years of Jewish life in America — stories of resilience, identity, migration, and impact that have shaped the nation in countless ways.
Jewish identity is not one-dimensional. It can be rooted in religion, culture, family history, or lived experience — and Jewish communities reflect a wide diversity of backgrounds, perspectives, and traditions 🌍
So why does this month matter?
Because too often, Jewish stories and contributions are overlooked, simplified, or misunderstood. Taking time to learn helps challenge stereotypes, deepen understanding, and create space for more accurate and inclusive narratives 📚💡
This month is an invitation to:
✨ Learn something new
🎶 Explore culture, traditions, and history
📖 Uplift Jewish voices and stories
💬 Engage in meaningful conversations
And remember — this learning shouldn’t stop in May. It belongs in our classrooms, communities, and conversations all year long 🤝

May is Mental Health Awareness Month ❤️
Mental health matters — for everyone, at every stage of life. This month is a reminder to check in with yourself and others, break the stigma, and support access to care for all.
🧠 1 in 5 adults experience mental illness each year
📊 Millions still lack access to quality care
💬 Talking about it can make a difference
Whether it’s practicing self-care, learning more, or supporting someone in need, small actions can create meaningful change.
If you’re a CSUN student, you’re not alone — support is here for you.
