Thursday before the break JRE PTA Hospitality team hosted 🥤Thirsty Thursday 🥤 for our teachers and staff. Our teachers ended the day with their favorite Sonic drinks. JRE families ❤️ our teachers and staff.

We are so grateful to all the families at our school who support the PTA and make it possible for us to provide teachers a fun drink to start off the long weekend.

🌟 FIELD DAY IS COMING! 🌟
Mark your calendars for Friday, May 1st — Field Day is almost here! We’re excited to be partnering with JRE staff to make this our best year yet.

🎉 WHAT IS FIELD DAY?
Field Day is a day full of outdoor fun for our students, planned by Coach Perry! Students will enjoy a variety of games and activity stations, bounce houses, a color run, and even snow cones🍧

🙌 HOW CAN YOU HELP?
JRE PTA is looking for volunteers to help with setup, tear down, and running activity stations. This is a great opportunity to be part of the fun and see your child in action!

👕 WHAT ELSE DO YOU NEED FOR FIELD DAY?
- Order your child’s grade-level Field Day shirt by Friday, April 10th. Each grade wears a different color to help keep things organized. Field Day shirts are the same every year, so if your child already has one that fits, they’re good to go!

*These are different from the red field trip shirts you may have purchased at the start of the school year.

- Send your child with a plain white t-shirt to wear for the color run.

Jane Ruestmann Elementary is excited to host their upcoming Career Day for 4th and 5th grade students. We are looking for volunteers to share their careers and experiences with our students.
Career Day is a wonderful opportunity for students to explore a variety of professions, learn about different career paths, and begin making connections between their interests and future goals. We are seeking volunteers from a wide range of fields who are willing to speak with small groups of students about their job, education, skills, and day-to-day responsibilities.

Date: May 7, 2026
Time: 8:00-10:00am
Location: Jane Ruestmann Elementary
Presentations can be informal and interactive, and we encourage volunteers to bring visuals, tools, or examples to make their career come to life for students.

Our Nominating Committee has completed its work to identify a slate of candidates to lead Jane Ruestmann Elementary PTA for the upcoming 2026 - 2027 school year.

In accordance with our bylaws and Texas PTA guidelines, the committee has selected individuals who demonstrate the leadership competencies—such as integrity, collaboration, and a commitment to our community—necessary to support our school's mission.

2026-2027 Proposed Slate of Officers
The Nominating Committee is proud to present the following nominees:

President: Caroline Hering
Secretary: Alyssa Pollow
Treasurer: Candice Saffle
VP of Programs: Carolyn Soto
VP of Membership: Lindsey Roccato
VP of Fundraising: Candace Miller

The position of VP of Communications has no current nominees. If you’d like to hear more about the role or how to get involved, please reach out to our Parliamentarian at [email protected], and they will be happy to walk you through the next steps.

The formal election of the 2026-2027 Executive Board will take place during our Public Membership Election Meeting. All members are encouraged to attend.

Our first place winners will receive a pizza party from Marco’s pizza and eagle desk pets. 🦅🍕🥳

Our second and third place winners will receive Urban Air Passes and eagle desk pets. 🤩🦅
