This is what their President Obrador had to say about his meeting with Tom Vilsack - U.S. Secretary of Ag (Bully in Charge) who is threatening to sue the country to reversing its GMO corn ban:

López Obrador on Tuesday said that government officials were “very clear” in the meeting with Vilsack that “we can’t allow” GM corn to be imported for human consumption.

“We’re self-sufficient in white corn and we’re not going to allow the importation of yellow corn for human consumption,” he told reporters at his regular news conference.

López Obrador noted that yellow corn has mainly been imported as livestock feed, and said that its “content” would be reviewed to see “whether it’s harmful to health, even when it’s used as fodder.”

The president said that Mexico offered to extend permits allowing the importation of GM corn imports for fodder by two years as that process occurs, but was adamant that such corn won’t be allowed to brought into the country as food for humans.

“We’re looking for the way for them to understand that trade is one thing … and health is another. And if we have to decide between health and trade, we choose health. … The agriculture secretary is a responsible person, he understood us,” López Obrador said. Blessings to Mr. Obrador for doing the right thing for his country and for standing strong. Mexico is set to be the largest country to ban GMO corn. We wish our presidents cared as much for our health and environment. We stand with Mexico on this one. Where do you stand?

Update on Sophie. She had ex rays which showed a mass on her spleen so the surgeon removed her spleen and mass last Tuesday. She has been recovering very well but has had to wear the Cone of Shame for about ten days which she hates. The good new we got today is the mass is not cancerous and although she had some pancreatitis she is responding greatly to her new diet and is very eager to be back jumping on chairs and sofas once she recovers fully in about another week. She had great vet care with Maine Veterinary Hospital in Scarborough and the surgeon gave us several calls throughout the week. We have had to keep her restrained to a pen in a room and on a leash outside of that. Thanks for all your prayers and good wishes. It most definitely helped!
