Anne Cerullo first touched clay at the age of fourteen when she was introduced to the potter's wheel as a high school freshman. She then returned to her passion for clay in the late 1990's, after establishing herself in a career as a Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialist at Rhode Island Mood and Memory Research Institute (three degrees and twenty something years later). Anne has developed a variet

y of glaze treatments for her wheel-thrown vases, bottles and urns. Her Porcelain Peacock Collection is a series of richly glazed surfaces inspired by Tiffany Glass and Italian Marble. Her goal is to make one wonder if the piece is made of glass or stone rather than clay. She achieves this by firing each piece multiple times after each glaze application. The Aladdin Collection is inspired by the curvature of ancient Egyptian, Greek and Etruscan silhouttes. Each piece is woodash fired which gives her work the appearance of ancient vessels that have been unearthed from an archaeological dig. The Crackle Collection is inspired by the traditional pottery forms and glaze treatments of ancient Asia. Finally her Black Blaze Collection is multi-fired porcelain decorated with red, orange and yellow crystal flames.
