I haven’t posted much lately.

And honestly, when the public is not constantly talking about the school board, that is usually a good thing. It usually means the focus is where it belongs: on students, staff, classrooms, and the work of the district.

Then, in the past few weeks, I heard from people connected to two different Nebraska school boards, including one of the largest districts in the state. Their message was the same: start building relationships now with the board members who will still be there after November. Find common ground. Get people back on the same page.

I work with all kinds of people for a living. Different personalities. Different opinions. Different pressures. I learned a long time ago that professionalism is not something you turn on and off depending on who is in the room.

Our board president recently said other Nebraska boards are watching North Platte and making changes because of what they have seen here.

She was right, but perhaps not in the way she intended.

I was told one board reviewed the social media activity of two members of our board leadership team and pulled clips from our recorded meetings as examples of how board members should NOT conduct themselves.

That should bother all of us. North Platte should not be the cautionary tale, we should be the standard.

I believe Ward 3 and this district is ready to move past all this, rebuild trust, and put students and staff back at the center of every decision.

Professionalism. Stability. Trust.

That is how we restore Bulldog Pride.

One thing I hope our community continues to focus on moving forward is the difference between personal attacks and legitimate concerns about leadership and governance.

It’s fair for people to ask questions about staff morale, administrator turnover, collaboration, stability, board culture, and whether decisions are keeping students at the center. Those are not “social media rumors.” Those are real concerns many people in this community have expressed publicly at meetings and in conversations over the last couple of years.

I also want to clarify one point from the article: it stated that I did not respond to a request for additional comment. I did not receive an email request, so it appears they may not have had the correct email address.

At the same time, I don’t believe hostility or personal attacks help anyone. Local leadership matters too much for that.

I encourage people to keep paying attention for themselves. Watch meetings. Listen to staff and families. Look at patterns, outcomes, and leadership style. Stay focused on what helps move our schools forward in a positive, stable, student-centered direction.

After Kyle Nichols and Emily Garrick advanced to the general election, both candidates shared their thoughts Thursday with The Telegraph.

Good morning.

Although this wasn’t the result I hoped for, I’m incredibly grateful for the support I have received over the past several months.

Throughout this campaign, I heard from many teachers, staff members, parents, and community members who are genuinely concerned about the direction of our schools. I’ve had conversations with people who feel frustrated, exhausted, and worried about the culture and stability within the district. Those concerns are real, and I believe they deserve to be heard.

I also think there is a lot of misinformation, misunderstanding, and noise surrounding what has been happening within the school board. My encouragement to the community is this: pay attention, do your own research, attend meetings, watch the recordings, and don’t assume everything shared on social media tells the full story.

Even though this campaign is coming to an end for me, I’m encouraged by how many people supported a different approach focused on stability, collaboration, respectful leadership, and putting students first.

As we head toward the general election, I strongly encourage the community to support Kyle Nichols for North Platte School Board. Kyle is a thoughtful candidate who shares those same values and will continue advocating for students, staff, and the future of our schools.

It’s Election Day.

This election isn’t about personalities. It’s about what our schools need right now.

I believe it’s time for a different approach. One grounded in stability, communication, collaboration, and a stronger focus on students, teachers, and the future of our district.

Over the past several months, I’ve listened to parents, staff, and community members who want to see our schools move forward in a more positive and productive direction.

Today, you have the opportunity to make your voice heard.

I would truly appreciate your vote today.

I attended tonight’s school board meeting but did have to leave a little early to celebrate Whitley’s 13th birthday. ❤️

From the portion of the meeting I attended, it was difficult to hear more teachers speak openly about their frustration with the current environment and concerns about staff morale, retention, and recruitment. When educators are telling us they do not feel supported and that the focus has drifted away from students and learning, we need to listen.

Our students deserve stable schools. Our teachers deserve to feel respected and valued. And our community deserves leadership that stays focused on education rather than ongoing conflict and distractions.

I encourage people to watch the meeting recording for themselves. It’s important for our community to stay informed and hear directly what is being discussed.

Tomorrow is Election Day, and I would truly appreciate your vote for North Platte School Board.

I’m running because I believe we can move forward with more stability, clearer communication, and a stronger focus on students, staff, and the future of our schools.

Tomorrow, our community has an important choice to make.

Over the past couple of years, there’s been a lot of tension, division, and focus on conflict within the board. Many families, staff, and community members are ready to move forward in a more productive direction.

I believe we can ask thoughtful questions, be fiscally responsible, and hold leadership accountable while still treating people with respect and keeping students at the center of every decision.

Our schools work best when there is stability, collaboration, transparency, and a focus on what actually improves outcomes for kids.

That’s the kind of leadership I hope to bring to the board.

The last couple of days have been a whirlwind between graduation parties, celebrating graduation today, and soaking in all the emotions that come with this season of life.

As a mom, moments like these remind me why I decided to run for school board in the first place. Our schools, our teachers, and the decisions being made truly shape the future of our kids and our community.

Now we’re down to the final stretch. The primary election is Tuesday.

If you’ve supported me, shared a post, put up a sign, talked to your friends, or encouraged me along the way, thank you. I truly appreciate it more than you know.

I’d be grateful for your vote on Tuesday as we work toward bringing steady, student-focused leadership back to our school board.

I respect anyone willing to serve.

But I also believe leadership matters. So does fit.

Based on where our district is today, I don’t believe continuing the same approach is what we need moving forward.

I believe we need a reset in tone, communication, and focus.

That’s why I’m running.
