💜Did you know? The moonwalk wasn’t actually invented by Michael Jackson‼️

A similar move existed decades earlier and was being performed as far back as the 1930s under the name “The Buzz.” While dancers and entertainers had already mastered the illusion of gliding backward, it was Michael Jackson who brought the move to a global audience and turned it into one of the most iconic moments in pop culture history.

He may not have invented the moonwalk, but he definitely made the world fall in love with it.

👠➡️🩰 Did you know pointe shoes have their roots in high heels?

When ballet first emerged in the royal courts of Europe, dancers often performed in heeled shoes inspired by the fashion of kings, queens, and nobles. Ballet wasn’t originally about floating effortlessly across a stage. It was a symbol of elegance, status, and refinement.

As ballet evolved, dancers and choreographers began searching for a lighter, more ethereal look. Heels gradually disappeared, and dancers started rising onto the tips of their toes to create the illusion of weightlessness. This eventually led to the development of the modern pointe shoe.

So while pointe shoes and high heels may seem worlds apart, they share a common goal: elevating the dancer and creating long, beautiful lines.
