Mrs. Ashe JCS Vocal Music The Official page for Mrs. Katy Ashe, K-12 Music Teacher at Johnsburg Central School. Katy Ashe is a 2002 graduate of Johnsburg Central School. Mrs.

She is an accomplished educator, songwriter, and musician. When she’s not teaching music, Katy is the lead singer and songwriter of Last Daze, a rock band that is signed to Shooter Jennings’ Los Angeles based record label, Black Country Rock. Her album “Symbols & Snares” has earned her national attention from the music industry. She’s also featured on several tracks on Shooter Jennings’ worldwide

release, “Don’t Wait Up (For George)”, and has earned critical acclaim from several publications including Billboard Magazine, The All Music Guide, and Relix Magazine. Ashe is a passionate music educator. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Music Education with a concentration in Vocal/General Music from the College of Saint Rose, and a Master’s Degree in Music Education from Boston University, writing a thesis on music curriculum development. Ashe served as the elementary general music teacher at Middleburgh Central School for 5 years prior to pursuing her performing career. During that time she taught private vocal, guitar, and piano lessons to many students of all ages. One of her more notable students includes NBC’s “The Voice” Season 8 Winner, Sawyer Fredericks. Katy worked with Sawyer for over 3 years, mentoring him as a songwriter. She also has several students who are currently touring with national choirs, and opera companies. Katy loves instilling her deep passion for music with her students, and helping inspire a lifelong desire to succeed musically. She is thrilled to be home at JCS, and hopes to continue the musical tradition that JCS has carried for so many years.

Whew! Still going strong this week, the most ULTIMATE week of performances!

Here is the link to the Pop Singers and Jazz Band Concert from Tuesday evening. I'll be posting the Elementary Concert from last night ASAP! Thanks for your patience!

You can still catch the JCS Music Department this weekend:
Saturday night at 6 pm at Tannery Pond for the CASMA Cabaret- featuring Pop Singers and Jazz Band, along with many solo performances from students!!!

Also, Sunday afternoon, you'll find us on top of Prospect Mountain in Lake George to do our Service Songs with our Marching Band, Flags, and Pop Singers for the POW MIA Memorial Celebration!
