🧗📸Photo Rigging Clinic (2 days)

This two-day course is designed for climbers and photographers curious about how climbing images are actually captured. If you’ve ever wondered, “How did they get that shot?”, this clinic breaks down the systems and techniques behind it.

We focus on the rigging, positioning, and movement required to safely place a photographer in the right spot. You’ll learn how to build and manage static rope systems, position yourself for shooting, and move efficiently while suspended. We also cover communication, safety considerations, and working around climbers without interfering with the climb.

Throughout the course, we emphasize clean, efficient systems and thoughtful positioning to create strong images while maintaining a safe working environment. Participants will have opportunities to both rig and shoot, gaining a better understanding of both sides of the process.

Locations are chosen based on terrain and conditions, allowing for a variety of angles and real-world scenarios. By the end of the course, you’ll understand how climbing photography set-ups work and have the skills to begin building your own systems safely, creatively and effectively.

🧗Efficient Transitions

This one-day clinic is designed for multi-pitch climbers looking to increase efficiency, safety, and security who want to move more smoothly and confidently through the transitions that define multi-pitch climbing. From belay changeovers to rappels, time is lost, systems get messy, and mistakes can happen.

We focus on building clean, repeatable systems that keep things efficient and secure. Topics include belay transitions, rope management, changeovers, lowers, and moving between different terrain types, including 5th class to 4th class and back again.
This is a hands-on, systems-focused day with an emphasis on clarity, organization, and flow.

🧗Projecting for Sport & Trad Climbers

This one-day clinic is designed for climbers at the 5.9 level or above ready to break through. Whether you’re working a sport route or a trad line, projecting requires a different mindset and a more deliberate approach than just climbing pitch to pitch.

This is an instruction-focused day with climbing integrated throughout. Most climbing will take place on top-rope to allow for focused work on movement, sequencing, and tactics. Lead climbing may be incorporated when appropriate, but assessing lead readiness in a single day can be challenging, so this decision will be made conservatively by the guide.

You’ll learn how to break routes into sections, refine beta, manage rests, and make efficient attempts. We’ll also cover redpoint strategy, how to rehearse sequences, and how to use falls as part of the process.

A big part of the day is the mental game. We work on managing fear, staying composed under pressure, and building the confidence to try hard when it matters. For trad climbers, we also address the added layer of decision-making and ethics when projecting gear routes.

By the end of the day, you’ll have a clear framework for projecting more effectively and pushing your limits with intention.

🧗⚓Trad Anchors for Multi-Pitch Climbing

Climbing anchors are the foundation of climbing safety. This hands-on, technical clinic will teach you how to make the most of your gear in all of its different applications. Topics will include proper placement of rock climbing protection (spring loaded camming devices, nuts, and tri-cams), multiple point rock climbing anchors, equalization, non-extension and advanced belay systems.

Climbers will build anchors, utilize a variety of belay techniques, learn to transition, and remove anchors.

Pro tip! This clinic pairs well with the clinic "Efficient Transitions."

🧗⚓Top Rope Anchors (2 day clinic)

This two-day course is designed for climbers who want to build their own top-rope anchors safely and efficiently. If you are new to climbing and are ready to take the next step toward setting up your own systems, this clinic provides a clear and practical introduction.

We focus on building simple, redundant, and reliable anchors. You’ll learn how to evaluate placements, use gear effectively, and construct anchors using both natural features and fixed hardware. Topics include anchor principles, gear placements, and the differences between building anchors on trees versus bolts.

A key part of the course is the use of static rope systems for efficient anchor building. We cover how to rig static lines, manage edge transitions, and build anchors that are both clean and durable.

Throughout the two days, we emphasize clean systems, efficient rigging, and minimizing common mistakes. Instructors provide hands-on coaching so you can build, assess, and refine anchors in real time.

We use local crags such as Cathedral Ledge and Whitehorse Ledge selecting terrain that allows for safe access and multiple anchor-building opportunities. By the end of the course, you’ll have a solid understanding of top-rope anchor systems and the confidence to begin setting them up on your own.
