A recipient of the Roxanne Spillett Honor Award for Program Excellence, Mr. Tevin has taken the Air Base Teen/Open Rec Program to new heights! His hard work, innovation, and dedication has been an inspiration to his peers and even more, the students he engages with. Teen attendance has been at an all time high, giving military youth in our community exposure to a variety of leadership, academic, job readiness, and community service opportunities. Thank you for all you do, Mr. Tevin!

Recognizing Our JB Charleston CYP Heroes

Tevin Rouse demonstrates outstanding dedication to youth development by creating a safe, engaging, and inclusive environment where teens feel supported, valued, and empowered to grow. He consistently goes above and beyond to support teens, families, and overall program success while serving as a positive mentor and role model for all youth in his program. Through his leadership, Mr. Rouse develops engaging programs that promote teen leadership, learning, and personal growth while creating fun, educational, and meaningful experiences for participants. He remains committed to helping teens reach their personal, academic, and social goals and builds strong relationships with them through mentorship, encouragement, and daily support.

Recognizing Our JB Charleston CYP Heroes

Over the past two half years, Tieesha Busby has proven to be an invaluable asset to our organization. She recently advanced from a NAF role to take on the responsibilities of GS CYPA Lead for the Pretoddler classroom. Her commitment to excellence was formally recognized when she was named a CYP Hero during an unannounced Air Force inspection, highlighting her daily vigilance in ensuring the health, safety, and emergency preparedness of the children in her care. Tieesha’s unwavering dedication significantly strengthens our mission, and we are deeply grateful to have her on our team.

For over 15 years, Courtney has been an essential pillar of our team. Her daily dedication profoundly impacts the development and well-being of the preschool children in her care. Over her tenure, she has cultivated exceptional rapport with parents and colleagues, and most importantly, forged deep connections with the children. She plays a vital role in preparing them for a crucial milestone: entering kindergarten. Courtney's unwavering commitment makes her an invaluable asset to our organization, and it is precisely this dedication that earned her the title of "CYP Hero" during our recent unannounced Air Force inspection
