Found one of my Scissortails in the wild in southeastern Oklahoma last week . Pretty cool to be seated at a table and look up to see my own artwork on display.
Also enjoyed the most special family time, dogs included.

Ray and I spent a week at Middleton Place in Charleston, and I honestly didn’t know a place so shockingly beautiful and peaceful could exist. If you zoom in on the last picture you can see the inspiration for my piece, the unhurried Great Egret, watching.

“Have you been painting?” is a question I’ve gotten a lot recently. The answer for a while has been… no. We’ve been adjusting to life as a family of 5 and doing really important things like snuggling the new baby and following the adventures of “Catty the Adventurous Caterpillar” (as named by my 5 year old).
BUT finally the answer is YES. I finished a painting this week. Full reveal coming soon.

Heading to the auction? Take home this piece of Christ the King with you.
I wanted to capture the feeling of walking up to the church where we attend mass, which is why I chose to include the trees and landscaping. I always think of walking in under the trees surrounded by flowers.

Good Vibes.
People always ask me if it’s intimidating or difficult to paint live. I was more self-conscious for the first 10 minutes of this one while I mapped out the dog’s face, and it looked like a 5 year old drew it. Then as the details come together and the painting comes to life, I barely notice anyone else is there.
The theme for the live paint-off was Good Vibes, and we had 90 minutes to complete the painting. Actually finished this one in about an hour, which I’m pretty sure is a record for me. I figured no one has better vibes than a Golden Retriever wearing sunglasses. I added a little nod to OKC with Lake Hefner in the reflection.

Next Thursday come to downtown Edmond to watch me paint! I’ve got a fun painting planned for this one.
