Hey folks, we may be on a travel pause but look who's joined our little northern 'Bay Area' for a while! So fun to catch up - glad you are here, The Next Big Adventure!

Super fun to welcome our friends at The Next Big Adventure to Oregon's Bay Area and introduce them to local fellow traveler friends! Looking forward to swapping more stories and enjoying Coos cultural events in the coming months!

Learned yesterday that sweet, introverted, sit-just-behind-your-shoulder-on-the-couch Sola from our long-term Coos Bay housesit was gone. These five cats were pretty far along in life when we met them in 2016 so it's not surprising that 3/5 of the tribe we knew and loved are no longer around, but each loss still leaves an empty space. RIP lovely lady Sola.

Jumping back to Slowly Global's world for a moment... Said goodbye to one of the best today. We catsat Bernie for many months when we got to Coos Bay. Glad he got some outside time and lots of love in his last few years. RIP Little Bernieman.

OK, people - with the new year comes the big reveal!

We bought a house on the southern Oregon coast, and we have a new page called (wait for it) Slowly Coastal. So! Pop over to the page linked below and give it a "like" to follow our 120-year old farmhouse adventures! (And come visit!)

We still have travel adventures planned here and there, and we will share them when they happen, but you won't be seeing much from us on this Slowly Global page for the foreseeable future... Like, the next 30 years. :D

Slowly Global is now Slowly Coastal... We bought a 120 year old farmhouse in North Bend, OR in 2018.

Hosted our first (unofficial) WWOOFers this weekend - thank you so much for your log-cutting-and-stacking assistance, friends! (Everyone else, come visit. We have much work for you to do. Those walls ain't gonna paint themselves. :D )

And who needs travel when you have travel friends, travel talk, and homemade Thai-ish food...?

New year... new cat! Adopted from a friend's son on the promise that he's a good mouser - so far he has proven himself adept at enjoying head rubs, meandering around the house exploring (a.k.a. entertaining us), and drooling. Works for us. He'll earn his keep soon enough.

Other fun changes coming for the new year - including painting that spackled wall in the background - stay tuned!

Wrapping up east coast fun with hilarious animals, too much good food, and quality time with family and dear friends and their 9- and 6-year olds. (Hence the go-karts. Not pictured: Twister with the 9- and 6-year olds... It was a fierce battle, rest assured.)
