Our Enrollment Request form is open for students in Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade who are interested in joining Norman Public Schools' Spanish Language Academy. We would like to thank community partners, such as OU's JCPenney Leadership Program, for supporting our students with snacks throughout the school year. Students from the University of Oklahoma, alongside Eide Bailly, raised money and helped fund snacks for all three classes through DonorsChoose. It is our community partners who help meet all basic needs for our students!

🎉 Pre-K placement opens Feb. 16 at NPS! 🎉

Norman Public Schools is excited to share that Pre-K placement for the 2026–2027 school year opens February 16! Families can complete the online placement form between Feb. 16 and March 6 to be considered for a spot in our early learning program.

March 27 (by 4 pm) — Placement notifications posted�📝
By April 24 — Complete online registration to secure your spot

📌 Pre-K is offered at elementary and other NPS sites with flexible options. Children must be 4 years old on or before Sept. 1, 2026 to enroll.

❄️ NPS has released our plan to meet the state instructional time requirements. We understand calendar changes impact families, students, and staff in many ways, and we appreciate your understanding.

The details of the plan are below.

1️⃣ Monday, February 16 (President’s Day) will shift to an instructional day, as listed on the approved 2025–2026 academic calendar

2️⃣ Beginning Monday, February 16, two minutes will be added to the school day
Updated schedules:
- Elementary (K–5): 7:49 a.m. – 2:51 p.m.
- Middle School (6–8): 8:34 a.m. – 3:41 p.m.
- High School (9–12): 8:59 a.m. – 4:06 p.m.

3️⃣ Friday, April 17 will shift from a professional development day to an instructional day

Additionally, barring unforeseen circumstances our plan would be to shift to remote learning for any future weather events.

Due to the past weather days, we are moving our Parent Learning Academy session to February 5th! We hope to see you all there!

Due to incoming winter weather, classes are canceled for Friday, January 23.

• Schools are closed to students and school site staff
• All extracurricular activities, including athletics, are canceled

Forecasts indicate deteriorating road conditions as precipitation moves into the area Friday afternoon. After consulting with Weather Decision Technologies and the National Weather Service, this decision was made with the safety of students, families, staff, drivers and walkers in mind.

This weather system may continue for several days. Decisions will be made one day at a time, with an update regarding Monday shared Sunday evening.
