Gearing up for the upcoming Fall semester with recruitment season! So excited to meet the freshmen who're interested in joining the team!

This year at the University Rover Challenge, we placed 12th worldwide, scoring 260.12 points! This was the first year for most of the members who attended, so this was a valuable learning experience for next year's season and a great opportunity to see areas for improvement.
The team faced many engineering challenges, but every achievement of this team has been a testament to their engineering and interdisciplinary skills.
We'd also like to thank our graduated members, Benton Smith and Abigail Moore, for their outstanding leadership and for creating a safe and fun environment for the team. Congratulations on your achievements, and thank you for all you have done for SoRo!
We are so ready for the 2024 URC season! Look out for us this upcoming fall semester!!

Well, it’s women’s history month and international women’s day may have just passed, but women in stem and engineering competition teams are always thriving in their spaces regardless of the occasion.
SoRo is seizing the opportunity today to highlight the inspiring, intelligent, and passionate women currently on the team who’ve helped the organization thrive and flourish since the very beginning of this season! We love seeing women feel more and more confident and empowered to join these engineering spaces that are historically male-dominant! This competition season, the number of women on the team has doubled since last year!

Hey all! Long time no see! The Sooner Rover Team is back on Facebook, excited to update everyone on our current progress and previous successes! Look out for more posts in the future as we’ll be working harder to be more active on Facebook!
Last year, we qualified for the University Rover Challenge and ended up placing 7th in the world!! Boomer Sooner!!
This year, the Sooner Rover Team has made a concerted effort to optimize our recruitment process and retention of new members, placing a special emphasis on training skills like CAD and PCB design years before they are taught in the regular curriculum. Through these efforts, our membership has increased by over 300%.
This past weekend on March 3rd, the Sooner Rover Team submitted our System Acceptance Review (SAR) for the 2023 University Rover Challenge! The SAR is a competitive milestone where we will be judged against 60+ teams from around the world for the chance to compete in the URC finals in June!

It is with sadness from our team to let all of our supporters know that we did not make it into the University Rover Challenge competition this year. It was the most competitive year to date, with the minimum score to get into competition being raised from last year. But, we encourage you to follow the 36 teams from 10 countries that made it to competition this year by going to the Mars Society website at http://urc.marssociety.org/home/urc-news
We will continue to be working on the rover and making it the best that it can be, and we will still be sharing with you the progress we make through social media. Don't worry though, we have our eyes set on other rover challenges we want to attend this year.
Thank you for your continued support of our team. ♥️
