A bit of a July photo-dump review shows me enjoying the details in my work, life, and art!

Can you spot any of the places my travels took me in July?

So many amazing women who clay were highlighted in our July book. Was there a particular highlight of July's book you resonated with?

Here's another for August 2026!

"Edmonia" A Novel of a Boundary-Breaking American Sculptress by Brianne Baker.

Our Discord Channel has all of the details. If you'd like an invite - please send me a DM. One book a month - we meet towards the end of the month via Zoom.

For those already inside the channel - check out the Events, book_suggestions, and books-schedule for updates about the next Zoom book discussion! I also added a link where you can provide your email if you'd like updates about monthly books/meet-ups. Aug 27th, 2026 will be next Zoom!

4th of July has always been a big deal in my family. My grandmother was born on the 4th of July. My whole town came out for the Bicentennial, built wagons, did ye-old craft things, and “wagon-train” cos-played for a day.

We’ve adored lobstah hats, Statue of Liberty Hats, Liberty Bell 🔔 shirts, and more. This year - you might even catch us on PBS for the 250th in Williamsburg, VA! Always fireworks…always an adventure!

Happy Birthday America 🇺🇸!

Want to join a book club?!

This idea hit me while at the last week.

A bookclub for women in the ceramic arts!

Want to join?
Send me a DM for the channel invite. It will be one book a month. We'll figure out a time for the first Zoom discussion as a group in the channel for July 2026. We have a first book suggestion, but there are a lot of others to consider already loaded in the channel.

It won't be all "How-To" books - guaranteed! I want to keep it free to participate...look out libraries!

Feel free to share with your female identifying ceramic bookworms too!

What?! It’s Wednesday already! That’s how fast it felt during this week The week zoomed by!

Fun days filled with so many inspiring conversations, presentations, and demos will do that! Loved every minute I got to spend with Liz Quackenbush , Maggie Jaszczak , Lindsay Pichaske , and Kyungmin Park as well as all of the assistants, and organizers of this fantastic experience.

Words cannot express really how I feel about Donna Polseno and Dara Hartman Donna’s courage to take an idea and run with it along with Dara’s desire to support and then ultimately take this event into the future - they are just absolute gems supporting women in clay!

Then a lovely evening on Hollins Campus, reception social, dinner, a clay exchange, and a quick trip up to the Roanoke Star! (Had to go to the top of a mountain while I was no longer at sea level!)
