When a student struggles, the final answer doesn’t always tell you where they got stuck. Seeing how they approach the work can help you decide what support comes next.

Here are three steps to support struggling students with Trek Learning:

1. Check the skill Review student chat sessions to identify the concepts or steps they’re having trouble with while learning or completing assignments. Look for repeated questions or misunderstandings that point to a specific learning gap.

2. Listen to their thinking Explore their questions, responses, and explanations to better understand how they’re processing information. These conversations can offer insight into what makes sense to them and where they need another explanation.

3. Reteach and recheck Use those insights to adjust your instruction. Try a different example, break the concept into smaller steps, or provide targeted practice that meets each student at their current level of understanding. Then check again to see what’s becoming clearer.
