Happy First Day of School, District 64!! As we open our doors for a new school year, we are proud to officially launch our Strategic Plan 2030, guided by an inspiring vision for our future:

The D64 School Gardens team will be at the Park Ridge Volunteer Fair TONIGHT at the Library! We're looking for volunteers to help our school gardens thrive this summer. It's a wonderful way to learn the basics of gardening while keeping our student spaces vibrant and healthy while school is out.

FOUR STRAIGHT! We are thrilled to announce that for the fourth consecutive year, District 64 has been honored with the Best Communities for Music Education (BCME) Award from The NAMM Foundation!

This prestigious national recognition celebrates our district's outstanding commitment to providing every student with high-quality access to and education in music as part of a well-rounded curriculum.

A massive thank you to our incredible instrumental and general music teachers, our talented students, and our supportive families for keeping the music alive in D64!

The Emerson Middle School Symphonic Band is honoring a true percussion legend with a world-premiere! "pedAL to the metAL," composed by Danielle Fisher, is a special tribute to the late Al Payson—a world-class innovator, educator, and Chicago Symphony Orchestra percussionist.

Al’s connection to Emerson is personal: his children attended the school, and the band students still perform on his personal timpani today! Commissioned by Emerson band director Alex Teater and funded by BOPA, this piece was created to give middle school percussionists the spotlight they deserve.
