Spent some time doing the Spaghetti Tower Challenge in class this week. Students had to get creative and work together to be successful with this tall task.

These two young ladies had the privilege of being invited to tonight’s Jessamine County Board Meeting to receive recognition of their success at the most recent Career Development Conference (CDC) for the state of Kentucky. Their success at state allowed them the opportunity to travel to Orlando for the National CDC this past week. It’s been a fun ride of emotions watching these two girls be successful at a local, state and now national level. The medical world is about to have two young ladies take it by storm soon. Thank you JAG KY & West Jessamine High School for believing in JAG and our students.

These photos do a great job summarizing the week. Full of smiles, new friends, some warm sun on our skin and making the most of the National Career Development Conference! These girls packed a lot into a short week down in Florida and they did an incredible job representing WJHS’s JAG KY program! I’m guessing this is an experience that will have a lifelong impact on the students who were there.

Day 1 of NCDC is in the books. Today was a busy one!
From educational workshops learning about life after high school to getting interviewed and sharing why JAG is so special, it truly has been a great first day! Brianna Dunn delivered her award winning speech and competed in the Prepared Speaking competition. Night cap was the opening session where we all learned how to be fearless. Bring on day 2!

This crew had an amazing time at the JAG KY Career Development Conference in Lexington. I couldn’t be more proud of how we prepared for these events and then competed with the best of the best from across our state. It was a day that started out stressful and ended with tears of joy as we had Bri Dunn place 2nd in the state in Prepared Speaking and Kendyl Tillman place 2nd in Employability Skills. The National Career Development Conference might be in our near future!
