Here are some Ewe photos from this morning- they definitely love attention and cry when you walk away, and some of Jay working through some of the oak. Fun fact, Jay also cry’s when you walk away 🤣

Tomorrow Leigh Ann will be back to weaving if she sleeps in a bit you may get to watch her warp a loom, Jay will be back at the oak making more fun things!

The fort is open today from 10-5 where Jay will be working on various treen projects in Oak, Sycamore and Cherry and Leigh Ann will be weaving linen and h**p tapes!

A month ago a big storm came through Ligonier and a tree feel at the Fort. I texted the fort to see if they had any branches that we could use and we were sent a few photos. Matt put his hand on the end of a branch for size reference… fast forward to this evening and we learned a valuable lesson- his hand and Leigh Ann’s shoe are in fact the same size!

Anyways Jay will be working on that oak in a few projects we will see how far along he gets

Good evening!

Sadly we just found out that our event tomorrow at Heckler Plains Folklife Society (hecklerfest) has been canceled due to rain. While we will miss seeing our friends at the event, we very much appreciate the consideration to our gear and handmade items.

Our next event will be next Saturday and Sunday (August 29-30) at Fort Ligonier for History Alive!

Actual conversation today:

Mailman: this is a heavy box…
LA: yea, it’s coffee!
Mailman: do you really need that much coffee or is there a machine in the box too?
LA: nope, just my favorite Blue Lion Coffee Company coffee!
Mailman: you won’t be ordering again this year will you?!
LA: probably it will only last a few weeks at most! (Yes I let him assume I drink 25 pounds of coffee on my own)

In other news we now are fully restocked in Blue Lion Coffee! Hit us up if you want us to put a bag or two to the side for pick up at an event!

This Saturday we will be at the Heckler Plains Folklife Society for their annual Hecklerfest!

There will be a lot to see and do and will make for a great start to the weekend.

Next weekend we will be at Fort Ligonier! It will be a fantastic two day event with lots to learn and see.

They have a new display up in the museum about Washington’s Friendly Fire Incident.

They still have their two sheeps (Leigh Ann can’t wait to see them!)

And of course we will be there demonstrating and talking about how the itinerants worked with the military to help them get the support they needed.

This site is a wonderful non profit so admission helps to cover educational programs, and site maintenance. Be sure to come visit August 29-30!
