We enjoyed the Kinney Center for Autism Education and Support Autism Awareness Luncheon, where we heard from a panel of experts about how advances in technology and artificial intelligence are transforming treatment and planning for individuals with autism, their caregivers, and providers.

This event is always close to our heart🩷 It’s an opportunity to celebrate the progress that has been made, while also connecting with experts, parents, and individuals with autism who share a deep commitment to improving the lives of all those with ASD.

If your child is being bullied or harrassed at school… here’s where to start.

We know how upsetting this is. When it’s your child, it feels personal and urgent. A few things we always tell parents:

🌟Put everything in writing... this is so Important!

Even if you’ve had conversations, follow up with an email. Keep track of what’s happening, when, and who you’ve told.

🌟Ask for a meeting.
Bring the school team together and talk through what’s going on. You shouldn’t have to figure this out alone.

🌟Focus on a safety plan.
The goal is simple: your child needs to feel safe at school. Ask what specific steps will be put in place to make that happen. Get it in writing.

👉One thing to be aware of is that schools won’t share what discipline another student receives, they can't.
