Sussex County Sheriff Michael F. Strada would like to provide you with the following information:
As the summer months approach, the County of Sussex would like to remind residents that all county libraries will be open as cooling centers and charging stations. The Montague Municipal Building will also be available as a cooling center/charging station. In addition, the Sparta Police Department is also a 24/7 cooling center.

Hours of operation for each location are listed below.

🎉🚔 Congratulations to Class II Special Officer Jacob Glista! 🚔🎉
The Sussex County Community College Criminal Justice Department and Criminal Justice Club are proud to congratulate Class II Special Officer Jacob Glista on his graduation from the Morris County Police Academy and on continuing his service with the Newton Police Department.
A graduate of the SCCC Criminal Justice Program, Jacob worked hard throughout his academic career with the goal of going directly into the police academy. His dedication, perseverance, and commitment to public service have led to this outstanding accomplishment.
Jacob was also recognized for his exceptional performance during fi****ms qualifications, a testament to his discipline and professionalism.

The Newton Police Department is proud to announce the swearing-in of three new officers to our agency.

Please join us in welcoming Patrolman Matthew McLean, Patrolman Corey Iannotta, and Special Officer Jacob Glista as they begin their careers serving the residents and visitors of Newton.

These officers have demonstrated a commitment to public service and will now begin the next chapter of their law enforcement journey with the Newton Police Department. We are excited to have them join our team and look forward to watching them grow both professionally and personally as they serve our community.
