Newton Substance Abuse Committee work cooperatively with the Town, school district, police and fire departments as a resource to assist residents in accessing substance abuse treatment.

The Newton Substance Abuse Committee is comprised of members of the community who will work cooperatively with the Town, school district, police and fire departments as a resource to assist residents in accessing substance abuse treatment. In addition, it will provide residents with free and confidential 24-hour assistance, online access to substance abuse prevention resources, and educational eve

nts. The committee takes no views on political matters. Its sole purpose is to be a resource to the towns residents. It is hoped that the unique and cooperative approach involving residents and town agencies will serve as a model to other communities
