What a day! Andrew Machin was champion individual in the Ag Mechanics CDE while Alyssa Machin was champion individual in the Agronomy CDE! What a talented family!

The Newton FFA team of Colter Shaw, Alyssa Machin, Grace Guy, and Bentley Burtlow was named Reserve Champion in the Iowa FFA Agronomy CDE held at ISU Tuesday! The team completed a written test, team problem, analyzed grain defects, and identified crop and w**d plants, seeds, diseases and disorders. The team was led by Alyssa Machin who was the champion individual. Very promising future agronomists! Congrats!

The Newton FFA Ag Mechanics team of Jeremiah Morse, Andrew Machin,Wyatt Archibald and Caleb Johnson received 3rd place honors at the state contest held Tuesday in Ames. The team was led by Andrew who was the champion individual. Super impressive performance in welding, electrical wiring, small engines, construction,, and land measurement. Congrats guys!

The Newton FFA Agronomy team had a great showing at the NE District Agronomy CDE in Waterloo in Tuesday where they were the 2nd place team! Next week is the state contest. Congrats!

The Newton FFA horse judging team had another good day Wednesday as they were the Grand Champion team at the Winterset FFA Horse Judging Contest! They are looking strong as they prepare for the state contest in June. Congrats girls!
