School is canceled, Monday, January 26, 2026. No after school or evening activities that day. Public governance meetings will be virtual and recorded for future distribution.

Massachusetts Safe Routes to School National Center for Safe Routes to School

Thanks to Newton MA Police Department to making the blue zone rules clear. Blue Zones work best when more families choose to walk, roll, bike or ride the bus to school.

Wednesday June 5 is the annual Newton Safe Routes to School Bus/Van Driver and Crossing Guard Appreciation Day. Say a special thank you to our Safety Superheroes for another year of helping students arrive at school ready to learn each day. A special thanks to Green Newton for donating flowers for our crossing guards and Newton PTO Council for providing breakfast for van and bus drivers.

The Newton Safe Routes Task Force is fortunately to work closely with Newton MA Police Department on one of our 6 E's: "Engagement". These facilitated sessions offer an opportunity to further our relationships with Newton Police and explore what we need to build a more unified community. Please sign up if you can work it into your schedule; sessions continue through mid-March.
