Newport Oregon Club 127 hosted their Grass Roots Nationals yesterday with 16 players. We have quite a few new players who felt they were not ready to play and we had quite a few people sick so the 6 from Bandon were a joy to see!!
The exceptional Monica Gum-Newton handled all the money, payout and pretty much everything with the expertise she shows each time she sits behind the money drawer. I myself did little to nothing other than make everyone who played me joyous!!
Carole Herron had a grand slam in the first half which I am proud to say I helped!! Terry Greenawald had an almost Grand Slam and I am again proud to say....well I stopped that one and received $5 for my efforts!!

Two requirements.
1. You must be a current member of the ACC and grass roots. 2. You must be willing to be nice and have fun.
Two separate nine game sessions with potluck lunch in between.
Entry fee for official is $20 plus $8 for each session.
Entry fee for unofficial is $8 plus $8 for each session. Optional side pools available.
Special hand payouts including grand slam, grand slam spoiler, 29 hand, 28 hand, 23 hand, 22 hand, royal Ann, royal Andy, raggedy Ann, raggedy Andy, crib flush, 3 jacks no k***s, 38 special, first and last 24 hand.
If you plan to attend, please rsvp with an idea about potluck choice so we have an idea of number of players and food choices available. We wouldn’t want to have all desserts……..lol

Newport Oregon Club 127 is the host to a week long "cluster" of cribbage tournaments. There are 4 tournaments with 4 directors starting on Saturday April 5th and the directors for the Jeanne Hofbauer Memorial are Junko and Pete Larson.
The flyer is online and this tournament has sold out in the past so get your entries in early please.
Many people rent a house to make it more affordable here on the coast. Time to start planning this incredible week of cribbage (whether you do 1 or all 4 tournaments.)
