This year for Giving Tuesday help us give back and remember a notable alumnus. Accept the MAC 1985 challenge and make a gift to the Kevin Lyles Memorial Fund.

From our homes to yours, we hope your day was full of good food, great company, and memories to be made. Tell us what you are thankful for this year. Our exec board is thankful for all of our members, especially those who show up and give back. We couldn’t do anything without you guys!

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our dear friend and board member Kevin Lyles ‘85. Kevin was a devoted member of the Multicultural Alumni Chapter and an active and committed Christopher Newport Alumnus. Please keep Kevin’s wife and sons in your thoughts as they navigate his untimely passing.

The Multicultural Alumni Chapter will release a formal statement honoring Kevin’s legacy of service in the coming days.

This one is for the new kids on the block! Our young alumni raffle will run from 12pm-2pm. This raffle is for alumni who graduated in 2024 and 2025!

The MAC E-Board, on behalf of the Multicultural Alumni Council, extends our heartfelt condolences to the family of Lyndon “Lyn” Garner, Jr., who passed away Monday evening.
Lyn was the epitome of what it means to be a Captain—steadfast, compassionate, and committed to community. The world was undoubtedly a better place with him in it. He was a constant presence at MAC events and a generous supporter, always willing to lend a hand or words of encouragement.
More importantly, Lyn lived with purpose, consistently seeking ways to uplift his fellow Captains and positively impact the world around him.
He will be deeply missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Garner family during this difficult time. Please consider donating to the meal train link in our bio to support Lyn’s wife, Tiffany, and their children, Natalie and Caleb.
