Today was my last day at The New Mom School for a while, so I can focus on kids and other parts of my business. I love all my mommies and babies that I get to help. Thank you for this lovely time together!

I'm starting a new post every Friday (the same day as our complementary BF support group ) called FUN FACT FRIDAY!
Breastfeeding facts supported by (you guessed it) scientific research and AAP standards for breastfeeding information and education. HOORAY for science and all it has to teach us! Of course, as moms, we are also experts and some of what we know cannot be taught, just lived.
So these facts are for you, mommas, to support what you already know, in defense of breastfeeding, for liberty and breastmilk for all.

I often get asked "how much should my baby be eating" and my answer is it depends on the baby. Weight, age and type of feeding (breastmilk or formula) can alter my answer. Here is a great resource with all feeding information for infants 0-12 months.
What is the Ideal Newborn Feeding Schedule? How often should your baby eat? Our newborn feeding schedule helps you to make good food choices for your baby during the first year of life.
To all the NICU moms, you are a special kind of momma. We love and support you. You are amazing!

I am so excited and honored to announce that starting THIS FRIDAY, I will be leading the weekly breastfeeding support group The New Mom School. My beloved mentor, teacher and friend Danielle Brown Gauss has lovingly passed the baton to me as I take on this new role.
If you are interested in attending, please register before the meeting through www.thenewmomschool.com -- open to all nursing moms and moms to be wanting to learn more about breastfeeding.
I look forward to learning with all of you wonderful moms.

Worth a read if you wanna know how magical milk can be!
The More I Learn About Breast Milk, the More Amazed I Am Before I had my daughter, I wasn't particularly interested in mother's milk. Now I'm literally awake at night thinking about it.
