One of the most common traps in conflict is escalation.
A motion doesn’t work.
An email doesn’t work.
A demand doesn’t work.
So we do more of the same, only louder, faster, and with greater conviction.
Sometimes the hardest question isn’t:
“Am I right?”
It’s:
“Is this working?”
I’ve spent decades watching people become increasingly committed to strategies that aren’t producing the outcomes they want.
Whether it’s litigation, co-parenting, business disputes, or relationships, there comes a point where we have to ask:
Am I solving the problem, or am I escalating my investment in a strategy that isn’t working?
